This is the real reason why I was so worried about this episode of Castle. I thought it was going to be a disaster. I was proved wrong. Having it be case based as well as switching from the 40's to the present day gave it meaning. I loved how they constructed this episode which made it not just a throwaway episode. It was great seeing all the cute facial expressions Kate was giving Castle because he was so excited by the case. I really believe it is coming to the time where Beckett needs to share her secret at least and I am really looking forward to the two parter hopefully exploring that. __________________

^^^ i rewatched the episode and the length of the kiss doesn't bug me anymore. i think its just because of how much that kiss was teased that it was surprising that it was so short. either way i'm okay with it.
i think Stana Katic/Kate Beckett stole this episode for me. Beckett's reactions to the love story, to Castle's flustering comments.... all of it. 40s noir films are my favourite thing to watch and i was really nervous about this episode because i wasn't sure how they would pull it off, but i think they did an excellent job and i really enjoyed it! __________________

You know what I LOVED about this episode?? Well, a million things, but actually, what I really loved is that while they teased a lot and they released a quarter of the episode before it aired, I STILL didn't feel spoiled at all! Usually when I watch sneak peeks and I watch the episode I'm like oh it's the sneak peek scene, but this time I didn't even care what I'd seen or not seen before cause it was just so perfect, all the back and forth between the 40's and our time, I LOVED that! I was expecting the episode to be totally AU and it was NOT at all, I love that the couple was still alive and that they'd had such a happy life together

Ok, so I rewatched the episode tonight. I must say I loved every single thing about it. It was AMAZING. The setting, the music, the acting, the clothes, the story... ALL OF IT. It looks like they worked really hard on this one.
First of all, Castle and Beckett's 40s versions. Holy Mother of God. They both looked so yummy that to be honest I didn't know who to look at. Vera was dressed to kill, full of hairporn and so, SO sexy. And Joe... that combination, hat + trench coat + suspenders was enough to knock me off my feet. The part when he says KATE: OH MY GOD, LOL!!!!!! As for the story/case, it was interesting, intriguing, suspenseful and WOW, that twist. I wasn't expecting Joe and Vera to be alive. Man, I've read tons of mystery novels but still I was sure they were the victims of the double homicide before watching the episode. That really surprised me, and in a good way. The characters were wonderful, all of them. The acting, flawless. No wonder all the actors are so proud of this episode, showing their love for it on Twitter. They have lots of reasons to be proud. Tamala. How incredible was she last night? Her voice is beautiful and she looked stunning as well. Not to mention that what she said was one of the best quotes IMO: You two are a walking fairy tale, Good Lord! Molly looked like she came out from a fairy tale, seriously. I also loved seeing her playing a bad girl. And last but not least, the kiss. I know it was short, but it was enough for me. I see it as a wink to the fans from Andrew Marlowe. Now we have to see the real deal. Quote:
I'm so happy we were able to watch it live, Ju! Quote:

OMG. It was an incredible episode!! The plot, the twists and turns, Caskett as their 1940s alteregos! Joe and Vera.
Like you Flor, I did not expect Joe and Vera to still be alive after all these years. What a revelation, I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. And the kiss!!! So short, but so worth waiting for. Now Caskett need to get it on properly. Last but not least, a beautiful gif: I so wish this was Caskett and not Joe and Vera. __________________

I was very happy wiht the episode
I loved how the past storyline was added up with the recent one and the scenes mixed well together. I loved the outfits they wore and everyone looked great. Also it was great to hear Tamala sing. the only thing that threw me off a little was the "accent" that "sally" had. lol sorry. i loved the interaction between Vera and Joe and lol when he said Kate and Beckett was like "you said Kate" and he was like "No I said fate" I wanted to scream "god you dork, of course you said Kate and you should have answered her question with YES damn it" then maybe the kiss would have not only taken place wiht Vera and Joe but also with Castle and Beckett I loved the kiss in the end and the always refference but gosh.. would it kill AM to make the kiss sequence a BIT LONGER? __________________

Very fun episode I thought. Vera blew me away... Stana 'Cameleon' Katic can morph into anything... umm... although I thought she was more sexy and cute in the cigar girl scene. Nathan as handsome as ever...
okay, I'll be say it... US TV ratings was a mild shock. but there was that new NBC show debut... I only watch ratings for fear that our beloved show gets impacted some way instead of letting it take its natural course, not a judgement on the still stellar quality of most episodes. Quote:

^^^ honestly i think Castle is at a make it or break it point with the show, in the context of the beckett/castle relationship. the way they're writing it this year means not putting them together by seasons end will involve a lot of angst and while Castle touches on darker things, it isn't by a nature an angst-y show.
personally, i truly believe Castle can keep their dynamic interesting even after they get together just because they're two so incredibly different people with different approaches to life and if they wait any longer to put them together i think they'll have waited too long. people who hangout as much as they do become more and more similar, and the spiciest part of their relationship is in their differences and how they battle out everything. plus Castle really does try to be realistic with relationships on the show, and if they're going to continue in that trend they have to put them together. i can't imagine 2 people their ages who have accepted their love for the other not acting on it even for this long. a year is a really long time to wait and not do anything when you're in love with your best friend and seeing them every single day, no matter what your emotional damage is. i firmly believe their relationship would be something that would be hilarious and great to watch... and i think fans already have so many things that could happen in their heads. i can't see it getting dull, not with all their differences. __________________
