I still can't get over Haymitch calling him a total preener in CF, it was a LOL moment for me. Was he just telling them what he thought they wanted to hear? because the real Finnick is the furthest thing from that. He's a total sweetheart! In fact that's my favourite Haymitch scene, when he's telling them about the other victors. Woody nailed those scenes for me, including the elevator scene.
I fell in love with Finn character because of Sam (out of character), before watching Sam (during promos), I was pretty much oblivious to Finnick, even after reading the books twice. |

^ I was actually the same, it didn't help that I read the books so fast that I didn't get a chance to really get into the secondary characters too much. But once I started really noticing him, first because of Sam, I fell in love with the character and saw how amazing he is. And yes moments like the one in the gif with him hugging Mags should have given me an idea that there's more than meets the eye with him.
And I always wondered about Haymitch calling him that, he definitely knew he wasn't actually like that, they've been mentors together for so long so while it would make sense not to show it to the audience, I didn't necessarily think it made sense that Haymitch tells PK that. |

I love the second book bec all the secondary characters made me love them and it just so good.. I'm glad that Sam got this role even I didn't know that there was so much hate when he got the role of this..

^ I heard people complaining about it.
 But Sam certainly proved them wrong. He was extremely capable of the vast amount of emotions of Finnick's character. I think he added even more dimension to the character.  Case and point:  X __________________

I admit to being one of the people who was not too happy with the choice of Sam at first, but wow he just blew my mind. Captured Finnick's character from the book and put him on screen
