I wonder if their friendship is what killed their chemistry. I think sometimes actors work better when they don't know each other well. Then when they get comfortable it changes. At least that seems to be what happened with Ian/Nina.

That's a good question, I honestly don't know. I think how they wrote their relationship definitely helped though.

^ The way they wrote their relationship sucked. But even really early in season 3 I felt the chemistry disappeared quickly. I thought their first kisses and hook up was hot. But then the episode where Klaus turns Tyler into a hybrid they were kissing and I just wasn't feeling the chemistry anymore. It was like they were holding back.

I think there's a rule for actors where you can't kiss with tongue. That's why I think actors being friends can affect their chemistry. It either makes them more reserved because they want to avoid awkwardness or more comfortable to go for it. The couple in my icon, the actors have a go for it policy, so their chemistry is super hot for me.

I don't think there was ever a time I actually liked Tyler. I was either busy not caring about him, or hating his ass or just plain pitying him. If it hadn't been for Caroline, I wouldn't have given a flying fck about him either.

Also, I don't think friendship had anything to do with destroying their chemistry, since there never was much to begin with. They never were a sexual couple and yet suddenly from s3-5, that's all they really did. They had, at most, a cute friendship, that got destroyed by sex.

Candice has said Trevino is like a brother to her many times, so I think it's definitely a little weird to kiss him. I know I thought it was weird when they kissed.

I agree, but I also agree with Tee that they had chemistry in 3x01. It was the first and only time I found them kinda hot and I already hated them back then.

I found their kissing weird from like I said the episode where Tyler is turned. I remember that one time they kissed in front of Hayley. I felt bad for her having to witness that so close

Mindy Kaling from The Mindy Project said that you're not suppose to kiss with tongue and she only does it with Chris Messina who plays Danny because they're friends and another actor who is her ex boyfriend in real life. And I've heard other actors mention it but I can't remember who at the moment

Maybe it's an unspoken rule of etiquette for actors but if you feel comfortable enough with your costar you can break the rule.
