I think he at least knows a lot, and it makes me believe even more that there is something special about the cape. I wonder if Max's job is to guide the wearers of the Cape, and when they don't use it for the right purposes then he takes it back until the right person comes along?

Every truely great superhero story has some mythology around it. Well except Batman But I think it definitely adds something to the show if that's the case. I'm really interested in seeing what Max's part in all this is
