Hal:

Hal York was born in the late 15th century. He was turned in the Battle of Orsha by his commanding officer and has become a well-known and feared vampire in the intervening years. Hal's own actions anticipate and echo those of Mitchell in his recent attempts to refrain from blood-drinking. Since 1955, he has set up home in Southend with his two best friends, the werewolf Leo and the ghost Pearl (Hal has kept his life to a rigid structure and kept away from all other people: he refers to his household and their house in Southend as the "cage" to which he submits to keep both himself and the outside world safe. After Leo pass and he and Pearl pass through their doors, Hal deciding - albeit reluctantly, given the personality clashes - to remain in the house with Tom and Annie as his new 'support group'. Although their relationship is generally uncomfortable as Tom and Annie 'force' him to start working in a cafe to support himself despite the disruption to his routine, Hal proves himself even after his status as an Old One is revealed when he stakes Fergus and various other vampires to help protect Eve. Although he and Tom have come to form a tentative friendship, after an injury sustained when Tom's blood left a significantly-sized burn on his upper arm, Hal has become concerned that he is the 'burned man' prophesised to be Eve's nemesis.

Damien Moloney

Damien Molony was born February 21, 1984. He is an 5ft 10 inches tall Irish actor.
Molony grew up in Johnstown Bridge, Kildare, and after graduating from the Drama Centre in 2011, he went on to co-star as Giovanni in a production of the John Ford play 'Tis Pity She's a Whore at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.Molony’s casting as a vampire called Hal in the BBC Three series Being Human brought him his first television credit, though he has also starred in the short film When the Hurlyburly’s Done. In an interview with SFX magazine, Molony revealed that when approaching the role of Hal he did research on drug addicts and alcoholics.Since the filming of Series 4, Damien has been cast as Motl and Nate in director Nicholas Hytner’s Travelling Light at the National Theatre.

What's good about his character? Is he funny?

He is funny bc he is posh. You can tell there's a lot to him that he try's so hard to be good but now it's harder with living with Tom and Annie
