Yeah totally agree, I want my hot Aidan back! The hair is not so bad but it needs to not be mohawked like that >_<
He's going to need a bath too after a year in the ground, I'd love to give him a nice scrub down.

Yes I always assumed it must have been for the show since Aidan's been in the ground for a year. Strange though, my best friend whom I have been getting into the show pointed something out that got me thinking of how Aidan's body functions.

1.) My best friend pointed out while trying to get confirmation from me on the show's vampire lore(since she's new to the show she's only to 1.6) that while Aidan does not need to eat he does anyway for appearances and when mommy Josh forces a family dinner lol. So what does his body do with the food, in fact what does it do with the blood even? Does he use the toilet? And one thing I have wondered for a while is what food tastes like to him. Obviously it doesn't taste the same as it does to a human and maybe not even necessarily good given that at the end of 1.5 he tells Josh the meal he made is 'divine' but his face clearly says that he had pulled that compliment out of his ass and so doesn't mean it(love that face, I need to start keeping a collection of all my favorite Aidan faces hehe).

2.) This came up in a conversation on BeingFans during this weeks season 1 episode re-watch. Aidan is referred to as undead which means technically he's not actually alive per say, and in 1.5 Mr. Sarin(the old man the priest turned) points out that he can't hear Aidan's heart. I have never considered before that this comment could actually literally mean that his heart does not beat but that would make sense. Yet he has blood running through his vein which is proven frequently when he gets the crap beaten out of him and bleeds(and Rebecca drank him once). Plus one clear bit of lore this show uses is that a vampire needs to feed their blood to one they wish to turn(we are hinted to this with Cara and shown it with Cecilia). So there seems to be some confusion here.

So my main point here is given that there are some contradictions about Aidan's body function I have to wonder if it makes sense that he can grow a beard. Since it is clear that blood runs through his veins and is probable that he can digest food though, I suppose that means that his body does have some bit of living function.

Yes I do hope that it goes even briefly into the first episode, and am very glad that it was not a personal choice of Sam's. Not that I mean to challenge his right to have a beard, it's his body but I like him without facial hair best.

I thought about the whole hair thing thinking well he's dead but them I remembered being the huge history buff I am that hair never stops growing you see the mummies in Egypt who still have long -not- so flowing hair. It's the only thing that doesnt die.

As for food consumption I think he can digest it he just can't taste it.
