I think they were close to, if not already were splitting. Just something different there when you watch it in retrospect.
They were a beautiful couple. |

They made a good team. Always devoted to each other. I miss them.
I don't remember if Meredith was killed in TVD, maybe they'll bring her back at some point. I would love for them to work together again, even just a small scene. They have tons of chemistry on and off camera. |

No, she didn't die. What kind of role could Meredith have now though? She had some interaction with Damon after Alaric died...
