The reason Paul married her when he did was because her Visa was running out. He didn't want her to have to leave, so he married her to make her a legal US citizen. I guess it's being discussed now because of the I am an immigrant going on right now.

I guess it was no big secret. A lot of the same people that knew he got married in Aug. are talking about it. Not a few people, but a lot of people. I looked back on a lot of older tweets from before last Aug. and sure enough they were talking about if Paul would marry her or let her leave. I should have thought of this myself, especially since she quit her full time job, but it didn't even cross my mind. It looks like Paul is happy with his decision, since they are now wearing their rings in public.

But I have wondered how actors get to stay here for a long time when they finished one show and haven’t found a new one

Actors are here on a different kind of Visa. For a normal person, if you quit your job, you have a small grace period to start another full time one and have it worked out with immigration. Ines becoming a health coach would have never made it. She would have to have a full time list of clients lined up. She would not be able to travel around like she does. There is just no way she could have followed Paul around everywhere unless they were married. They still have to stay married for 3-5 years and live together, or she still couldn't stay. I believe it is very safe to say he married her so early because of it.
