I loved the vulnerability in Owen's eyes when Nikita mentioned Emily. That part of his life was real and he still feels it quite strongly, though he denies it.

Maybe in the future he can turn back into Owen or a mixture of Sam and Owen, if he can get in touch with his feelings for Emily again.

I hope for a fusion between his two personalities it was so painful to see Nikita broken for him, she really cares about him and I'm sure she'll do whatever she can to help him. Of course Owen can't forget Sam, now, Sam is back. But I don't think he can't mix the two of them - Sam is the real him, but he changed, after that. And I don't think it was only because of what Amanda did to him: he learned from people, he was the one who wanted to fix all the bad thing he had done: that was Owen, I know, but I'm sure that part of him is still there: Amanda may have created Owen, but what he did after wasn't because of her - just see what knowing Nikita did!

Now he can't see it and he's not even interested to see it, but Nikita was her friend, no matter what. She didn't use him, she never thought he was a puppet, she saw, imo, what Sam could have become. Owen to me was like an evolution of Sam, like his heart, in some way.

Agreed with your analysis airali_glo, Owen is Sam's evolution. Amanda created him, that's all. She didn't create his interactions and feelings for those he met. Those were genuine.

I think the fusion thing might be one of his character arcs in Season 4! Yesh! I wholeheartedly believe so!

Yeah, he wasn't a robot, Amanda didn't plan his interactions and his thoughts: it's true that she influenced him, but he decided on his own, after that. He met Nikita and became her friend. They helped each other and she was basically the only one he trusted really.

Like Devon says:

There are definitely shades of Owen in there. Owen was a little bit of Sam.

Owen was a toned-down version of Sam — he was Sam with a bit more heart
