I've shipped Alex with one other guy, but I really shipped her and Thom in the beginning. I think they had a lot of potential and would have been really interesting if he had not died.

He's still my first and favorite choice for her, no matter what. They had so much potential, I agree (and even Thom only had potential, they didn't tell us anything about him) and the writers made us see that, often. I love that he was the first friend she had inside Division, even if she "used" him a little...but she cared about him, I'm sure.

It would have been interesting to see them even as best friends only, better than nothing! Maybe with "more" feelings by his side only. Angst

But in general I wish we had more time for them. I know Craig had already planned to kill him around middle first season, but...more time would have been great we had even two episodes with no interaction at all (9 and 10).

It could have been even more tragic if they had really build up Thom and Alex as a romantic couple and waited until the season 1 finale to kill him. Instead they introduce Nathan halfway through the season

I do think they should have kept him a full season as I agree it would have increased the build-up. I think it would have been more effective than introducing a new romantic interest for her.

I got what Nathan was supposed to mean for her, but it was way too rushed! And for what? To make him desappear few episodes later.
Maybe a classic romantic couple would have been too much, but at least showing/seeing more feelings! Alex had so much stuff to deal with so she hadn't a lot of time for that, really, but...I'm sure people would have liked them to look like a little bit like the old Mikita

Yeah, having him for at least all S1 would have been great. She could kill Jaden to make her look as the mole and use another way to let Amanda know about Alex and Nikita. Thom wouldn't have exposed her, imo and it would have been interesting to see the relationship evolve. This would have added also more meaning to his death, more clear effects.

I read it on TWOP I think? From what I remember the writers were never a fan of his character, Craig joked recently about it I believe and how they never brought up that character again because they just wanted to forget him.

The Nathan thing was soo rushed and out of nowhere, it wouldn't surprise me if the network had something to do with that storyline more so than the writers.

If it's true, maybe the writers wanted to use Thad and Lyndsy previous relationship on that soap...maybe they wanted to bring their fans to Nikita

It was REALLY out of nowere, I still hate Alex's behaviour. I can't believe that we had 8 episodes with them and NOTHING about Thalex relationship after Thom's death (except that nightmare).

His death should have definitely had more impact on Alex through the rest of season 1 at least

I don't know, they might have dropped mention of Thom either way and just given Alex something different then her storyline with Nathan They didn't tend to linger on mourning that much
