What If
What I Told You Was The Truth (Ending with a Kiss) She would call his name when he turned to leave. He would stop mid stride towards the door and then pause with his back to her before turning to face her. And then she would look at him and in a husky voice with a puppy dog look asks.” Why?” His eyes look into hers and he is having a hard time words he wants to say he's not supposed to, he can't. “Maybe..." he looks away for a moment. Then looks at her again. “You’re worth it." Alex felt guilty, all her anger disappeared. Michael thought that she was worth for saving and it meant that he was and will act against the division decision but she was lying to him from the very beginning.... so she whispered "you're wrong" "Am I?" he asked, the look on his face neither implied confusion nor regret. He still believed she was worth it. " What makes you say that?” she looked into his eyes...she was torn inside because she wanted to tell him the truth but was afraid that he will never forgive her for lying...so she decided to play dumb "i failed the mission....again..." while Alex waited for his reaction on this she imagined that she doesn't have Michael anymore and gasped loosing her breath from the panic attack... "Michael" she breathed out and raised her hand as she is reaching for him Michael went to her," No," he said quietly," you didnt Alex. You played it just fine, you held out. You went through three rounds of electro shock. The rest of it...you were scared for your life. Does that make it wrong for you to do what's in your best interest? Is that what you think? To me that just proves that you may not even need me really." Alex didn't know what to say she hardly followed what he was saying, she looked in his eyes listened to her voice and realized that she made a huge mistake when she thought that she need to be near Michael so he wouldn't think she is the one who helps Nikita from inside. It was a mistake because now especially after this night she never want to be away from him... ...to me that just proves that you may not even need me really.... she herd his last line and the only thing she manage to do is to stand up and slowly walk to stand by his side.... ...."u don't know what i need" Michael couldn’t' help the way his heart twisted inside of his chest hearing her say that he didn't know what she needed. She was still upset with him for what happened, was the only explanation he could come up with. "Alex," He turned facing her and his hand reached out resting on her cheek," I'm sorry. I...I couldn't stop it. I wanted to, god I wanted to. It tore me up inside to sit there and watch you being tortured. They wouldn't listen to me, when I said enough. I never wanted anything to happen to you, so please don't think that I did and use that as a reason to push me away. Maybe I don’t know everything you need, but there are days I see how well you are on your own. Tell me what you need than?" He was right she was mad at him because he was a part of division, he was an enemy a torture...but the sincerity of his words,the worry in his eyes make her forgive him despite what her head is telling her not to do that. the sensation of his touch...so awaited (now she knew that)...so reassuring... "i'm just a girl Michael, i can do everything what is needed to survive but i'm not a machine....i hadn't a life before,i'm not sure that i have it now...is it worth to live just for living?...i need smth to live for, reason to breath...i need to know that this breathing wont stop because of some kind of test or somebodies bad mood...i need to feel something in the end of the day but not to chew my thoughts about is it worth to be still alive lying alone in a cold cell named a recruit room,,,,".... after she finished she leaned to his touch, looked down and continued in a wisper... "..do u know how it feels? do u now know what i need?" He felt sick inside because he did know, he used to know what life was. He used to know those feelings. Then she ripped it all away from him. Alex would do the same now, she'd graduate become a field agent, he was sure of that much and then she would render him useless nothing better than just one of the many at Division telling her what she should and shouldnt do. Pain twisted inside of his chest, he couldn't let himself get stuck like that again. He was about to back up when she moved in and then he heard her asking if he knew what it was that she needed. "Let me show you," he found himself saying instead. He moved in even closer to her and tilted her mouth up towards him as his lips captured hers in a blazing kiss, one that set his soul alive just to be able to feel her in his arms. __________________
