Awesome episode. The best episode in season 7. A lot of action, a lot of cool scenes with Danny in the episode, and great guest actors: Lori Petty (Orange Is the New Black) as a nurse and Michael Paul Chan (Major Crimes) as Captain Tanaka. I always love when we have episodes with flashbacks about members of Five-0. This time, we have Danny, we see him before the first meeting with Steve, and before joining to Five-0. We meet Meka, Danny's partner in HPD, who was killed in the episode 1.08. And just like in season 1, this episode is also connected with the Ochoa cartel. It's cool to see a little more Danny as an HPD detective, because the pilot has not shown us that much. This is the second episode, which is happening right before the pilot. Before it was the episode 3.20, when Steve grabbed Anthony Hess, and when Steve's friend Freddie died. The end of the episode shows that thanks to Five-0, Hawaii has become Danny's home. The scene when Danny talks about the Five-0 members is definitely one of the best scenes in the episode.

Another very good episode full of action and some humor. This time Danny got to shine and show how dangerous and resourceful he can be. Other cast members had small screen time. We got to see Danny's work (he wore a tie) and partner before Steve's time. Flashback scenes at the police station were comedy gold with natives giving danny self-tanning cream to change his skin color ) This episode was a very nice tie to the pilot, not to mention how much can change if you don't hang up on your ex ) Danny didn't talk to Mackino and was reassigned to ... John's Macgarrets murder and .... met Steve. we got to see another crazy stunt from Steve who crashed through the wall with a car to save his friend. And the last scene when danny talked to uncounscious Mackino about his new family was lovey.
This season has been very strong after weak previous season.

What a fantastic episode!! I loved how the flashbacks weaved the whole story old and new together. It was nice to see a Danny-centric episode. Talk about coming full circle! One of the best episodes ever.

It was the best season so far. In season 7. As really love it when Danny gets help. As it shows that Five 0 has his back. As the Hawaii PD did not. But the captain made up for it. And really Danny's ex Rachel is a terror in herself. You have to feel sorry for him.

As Danny not just puts up with Steve but with Rachel. Say what you will about Danny, but he is a caring and kind man. Underneath his whiner self.

Steve at least helped out Danny with Charlie and Danny usually does nice things for Steve, only for Steve at times to take advantage of his kindness. Danny does things for Steve no questions asked.

Steve acting like a BAM* driving through the house to save the people, really glad Danny told him to drive crazy. Though Danny complains about Steve's driving.

Loved the episode!! After seven loooooong years we learn about why and how Danny arrived to Hawaii. The flashbacks were used great in this episode!!

Danny instinct is mostly right great catch that the nurse was fake

Loved Jenny who helped Danny so much first I thought she also belongs to the bad guys lucky she didn't and kept Makino alive!

Danny sitting by Makino's bedside describing his team members made me teary eyed. They're his family now.

OMG! crazy Steve’s driving literally saves the day and he slams the truck through the front of the house priceless

I really loved that Steve gave credit for building the bed to Danny! Steve is such a great uncle. And that scene of Charlie & Steve was so adorable.Steve has been practically the other dad in Grace and now Charlie's life.

Tanaka Danny's former boss played by Major Crime actor was wonderful

Not enough Chin and Kono in this episode but I understand this was a Danny centric one!!
