I saw a few episodes of H5O and I loved the characters, so much that I wrote a story using the characters and the setting. It is just for fun. In fact, as I have later learned, these are old episodes (season 6), and I thought they take place in 2013, so the story time-line assumes it is 2013.

I wanted to ask you guys, as fans and people who know so much more than me, if I were to share this story would that be OK? Would anyone be insulted? So the story is just fun. I don't know how accurate it is because I don't know the backgrounds. I didn't do much research. I saw the episodes, thought the characters were great, took pen and paper and wrote a story, but then kept writing. Now, I'm thinking it might be fun to type it up and share it. But I don't want to insult anyone. I don't want anyone to think I did this cause I think I'm better - this is not a better story, it is a different story, some people might like it, some might hate it.

What do you think? Should I share it?

Welcome to the board.

When you write a story it is always nice to have some background, but on the other hand it is fiction and you can write what you want - just like all the other people do.
Personally, I love fanfiction - depends on the story and the subject though - but unfortunatley not everyone does and this is not the website for it.
But there are great sites on the internet.
Just search for "fanfiction" and you will find them easily.
You usually get feedback and/or reviews, so you'll know if people are reading your story or not.

I'm kind of new to this, so all you've said is news to me. I was thinking of just writing it in my blog. If it's read, it's read. If not, oh well... However, I don't want it to be read and then someone complains that I've done this or that. So I just wanted to see what you guys think. I don't mind if someone doesn't like it. I've been writing for long enough to know there is no such thing as a text that everyone loves. But, I don't want someone to say 'you've taken our idea and you've desecrated it, how dare you, blah, blah, blah'. As I said, it's just a bit of fun and it would be fun to share it.

I know that there are a couple websites that I know of where you can post fan fiction stories that you write. There are 2 that I go to most of the time to read stories like that, each "chapter" that you post, fans who read them can post thoughts on them so sites like that would be a great place for you to post that type of stuff. If you search fan fiction, most of the time the first couple sites that come up with be the most used for that.

Just wanted to add a little update...

My short story has turned into 80,000+ words book, which I have published on the fanfiction website. Now I'm writing the second part. Loving it.

It is shocking to me that this project has evolved into this. I am thinking about editing the first part and looking for rights to publish as a book. I really like the story.
