The hold up could also be due to McGuyver. The ratings aren't that good compared to H50 and Blue Bloods, but it's been on for far less time. PL might be trying to get all of his shows renewed. He already has Magnum PI, but the more shows he can get on CBS the more profitable it will be for him and it might give him leverage for any future shows he might produce. A lot of people thought that was the reason they did all three shows at one time on Paley.

I think it is not true Peter will try to keep Scott and will do everything to keep McDanno on the show but he knows for years now that Scott wants to leave so I don't see why he would be up set about that.

I see that this can be the reason for the delay of course Peter wants his 3 shows on the air and he also knows that McGyver was weak from the start while Magnum P.I. did wonderful rating wise maybe he is trying that CBS wants to give McGyver one more chance but CBS wants to see some change's in the show.

And I think CBS is still in in negotiation to keep Alex and Scott for the show.
