Because the writers needed to shove her into the viewer's throats every time, to make us think that she was a close part of the family, which she wasn't--she looked stiff and out of place most of the time, and her lines seemed forced and fake.

Yes Lori took alot away from the Steve/Danny stuff this season

Me too and knowing she has a new show is a relief now I know for sure she won't come back not even as a guest

I'm really hoping that her new show is a hit, firstly because it seems like a good show, but also because that means she won't be able to come back to H50

Steve is a Seal and has been taking care of himself all his military life and probably going on many solo missions as well. He doesn't need Danny keeping on eye on him or taking care of him. North Korea was different as Jenna betrayed him and led him into a trap. It was Joe who organised his rescue anyway. There is nothing Danny could do to help and Steve's knows that.
