I think that that might have been the first plan... There was the part where Danny shakes her hand for a longer time than necessary in the pilot... And then that undercover kiss to draw the attention of the armed men in 1.03...
I think it would've been an interesting dymanic... although I preffer the ohana to just stay friends as to not mess with the dynamics.
