I'd say it depends on the situation honestly...but that's just me.

I would be on Katherine's side on that argument . If Stefan and Damon could get along with it, then everything is consensual, and isn't that the most important part? They seemed perfectly happy in 1864 with Damon saying something like "You'll have my brother to keep you company" when he went off to war. Katherine probably thinks of it in terms of desserts. You can have both cheesecake and strawberries with cream too (so long as you don't overdo it)! She's very Roman in that way.
Of course it would be more complicated if they didn't like her worldview, but then I suspect Katherine wouldn't have fallen for them anyway and there would be no issue. Oh and the title reminds me of something that Katherine might say: "And even if it were cheating, which it is not, the rules are for the others, not people like us." |

I love that you all are trying to answer Kath's question in the gif I'm glad that it's opened a discussion.
Francesco (I probably spelled your name wrong sorry!) I think your answer is fair if they are both cool with it, and it seemed like they were at first. However, my answer is that it's not wrong to want them both, but if this were real life, I would never ever come between brothers in that way. But the amazing thing about TV is, is that it's not real so these situations playing out are fun to watch. I loved what the 3 of them had, their flashbacks were the highlights for me in the show. She really had a power over them and they were following her like puppies it was awesome and I still to this day hope that we get another flashback someday. I mean they need to do flashbacks because it's the only way our Katherine can return, right?! __________________

I'd say that given Katherine's background and general life experience, it is perfectly natural for her to think that she should have both (have you watched Showtime's "The Borgias"? It's off topic I know but its a great look into the world Katherine lived in when she was young). Besides, brothers find all sorts of things to argue and fight about, it's really part of the fun. At the end of the day, Damon and Stefan will still care about each other a great deal, so Katherine can't exactly ruin things now, can she?
Oh and you're totally right about it being TV and great entertainment for all of us, that's why we're all here right? Still, fiction does mirror reality somewhat, and that's why we're so engaged with Katherine's little shenanigans. It's funny how a gif quote can start up a bit of a convo, and maybe we'll get more quotes to use in the future *crosses fingers*! It would be a huge shame if they didn't dig deeper into her past, especially her relationship with the Mikaelsons. How does someone stay on the run for 500 years? There has to be a super interesting story there, right? (Plus we get to see more Nina!) P.S You spelled my name perfectly Erin, most people don't actually so props to you . |

Oh yay for me getting your name right, I was about to do your username but I was like no I know his name just spell it the best you can Erin!
I have never seen The Borgias and it's not technically off topic since it can be compared or related to these 3 so you're fine. I guess I need to check it out It really would be a shame not to go back into her past. If they want to kill Kath off that's fine (well not really) but why not bring her back in the flashbacks? Or in some form? It would make a lot of the fans happy and also it wouldn't exhaust Nina because flashbacks wouldn't require her as much as another full time character would so it's a win/win __________________

Jumping on the topic of The Borgias I really need to watch that for Jeremy Irons and because of my love of History. So interesting that it is a way to learn about Katherine's growing up back 500 years ago
