TIMELESS {Anchor ღ Captain} #60: "Paige? Amazing. She's been with Emily through thick and thin." ~ Shay
thread no. 60 { t e a m m a t e s . r i v a l s . f r i e n d s . l o v e r s . d e s t i n e d } A N D . I F . I . L O S E . M Y S E L F . T O N I G H T , . I T ' L L . B E . B Y . Y O U R . S I D E Once upon a time, there were two girls from two not so very different worlds. The first, Emily Fields, was the star and anchor of Rosewood's swim team. Openly gay and beautiful, everything seemed like it was so easy for her. The other girl, Paige McCullers, was the swim team's captain. Insecure, uncertain, and deeply closeted, Paige wanted nothing more than to just be normal. Despite being teammates, their worlds never converged ... until fate intervened and brought them together. Paige envied Emily's seemingly perfect life, while Emily was certain that Paige had things much easier than her. Their competitive natures drew them together and pushed them apart, but everything changed when one day, Paige kissed Emily ... #5 | 1.19 -- A Person of Interest #4 | 1.16 -- Je Suis une Amie #3 | 1.17 -- The New Normal #2 | 1.19 -- A Person of Interest #1 | 1.20 -- A Person of Interest #5 | 2.21 -- Breaking the Code #4 | 2.21 -- Breaking the Code #3 | 2.25 -- unmAsked #2 | 2.21 -- Breaking the Code #1 | 2.25 - unmAsked #5 | 3.15 -- Mona-Mania! #4 | 3.10 -- What Lies Beneath #3 | 3.12 -- The Lady Killer #2 | 3.20 -- Hot Water #1 | 3.08 - Stolen Kisses #5 | 4.04 -- "Face Time" #4 | 4.12 -- "Now You See Me, Now You Don't" #3 | 4.11 -- "Bring the Hoe Down" #2 | 4.02 -- "Turn of the Shoe" #1 | 4.01 -- "'A' is for 'A-l-i-v-e'" |

“I think sometimes you have, you know, a natural reaction with somebody, and you just have like that chemistry that's already there, even without acting; I love Lindsey so much as a person, she's so wonderful and such a great friend -- and I think that's kinda what just shows onscreen as well.” and if it all goes c r a s h i n g into the sea if it's just you and me trying to find the light volume 1 ღ volume 2 the EPic soundtracks On an almost daily basis, Emily and Paige were driven to distraction by the proximity of another girl. And without understanding why, each knew they could never say anything about it to anybody ... In the Rosewood of 1964, Paige McCullers tries to understand her crush on her beautiful teammate, Emily Fields, and her fantasy about a forbidden romance. “I feel she’s having a lot more fun hanging with Paige ... She definitely brings out a different side in Emily.” s h i p p e r s ; Last edited by t2727; 06-12-2015 at 07:35 AM |

Soooo...is Talia really not gone gone yet? Like for real? Are they going to make her a regular now or what?
Ugh, it's so frustrating. Every single thing just makes me go "Paige. That should be Paige. WHY IS THAT NOT PAIGE?!" |

I haven't seen the episode but have been given the coles notes version of what went on. I don't even know what to say anymore. I'm at a loss to understand why any of this is happening or why this was considered a good story for Emily. I have not read a single comment from anyone who is enjoying this Talia storyline (from Paige and non Paige fans). It's dragging Emily down and is a huge waste of time.
That being said, she's totally gone now. She packed up her things and got a job somewhere else. jace, I just wanted to bring this over from the old thread in case anyone missed it. I'd hate to think you wrote all this out for it to go missed. Quote:

Plus Bryan tweeted something last night that basically confirmed the fact that they do this to all the girls because anything else would be boring. Someone was upset about Aria and Andrew and he responded back something like 'Well what is she supposed to do, just sit in her room?' or something along those lines. That right there proves the fact that they only do this because they can't come up with any better. It's the easiest way for them to kill time and give no answers. The girls being single while having troubles with their main LI wouldn't be a bad thing at all. In fact it would probably be the smartest thing for them and the most realistic. God, it's exhausting watching them float from person to person like it's nothing. Quote:

Cause if they are still in Rosewood then that would make it even easier for her to come back. But if not then where would she stay? They could always move her in with Caleb, I suppose. Or perhaps Emily will offer her a room...? Yeah, I like that idea better. Last edited by jjay10627; 02-25-2015 at 11:19 PM |

Does anyone think it's possible that Paige would give up Stanford for another school? Considering that she did get in there, perhaps she got into other schools that are just as good and maybe closer to Rosewood? I have a question. I know that the show is based off a book series but I've never read it. But I was just curious, was Emison an actual couple in the stories? Like full on like Paily or was it like it's depicted in the show with just random kisses? I'm just wondering because the fans of them seem so aggravated that they aren't together, but I just find it hard to imagine them being a real couple like the others. But if it's a part of the books I suppose I could understand a little. |

jjay, those paily comfort gifs are killing me. I've gone from, "yes, lets look at all the happy moments again!" to "I can't, it hurts!!" Personally, I viewed the "come to California" line as just a slip up in the writing. Why wouldn't Paige be with her parents over Christmas? Didn't make sense (I know, logic). I think Paige's folks are still in Rosewood. Jace, I don't think Paige would give up Stanford, and she would be an idiot to do so. Unless she hated it and realised it wasn't what she wanted, but she was super excited about getting into that school, on a full scholarship and as far away from Rosewood as she could get. It was her dream, and the only thing missing from it right now is Emily. Quote:
ETA: Don't even get me started on that stuff Bryan says about the Liars sitting around their rooms if not in relationships. I actually find it insulting on a multitude of levels. Last edited by JustAFriend; 02-27-2015 at 09:18 AM Reason: more to say. |

No, no, jace, "entitled" is exactly the right word. But it's best to stay away from the dark-side, nothing they say makes much sense. They don't seem to be able to interpret character properly (see: Emily) or understand the significance of certain scenes or events that happen. I wonder if they watch a completely different show sometimes. If it weren't for MK's seemingly constant pandering to them on Twitter (although, as someone said, she does rather contradict those comments in interviews) then there is very little evidence that would make a relationship between Em & Alison possible from what we've actually seen on-screen. Idgi.
As for Paige's parents, who the **** knows where they are. & it's even more insulting tbh - they couldn't even be bothered to clarify it. Where the hell is Paige living? What's she doing there? She can't just rock up to College in the middle of semester can she? (Or do US schools allow that?). Is it at all feasible that her parents would be able to up sticks & move on a whim? What about jobs? Houses? Jeez. (The more I think about it the more angry I get!!). I guess they're still living in Rosewood (but they're so worried for Paige's safety they've just packed her off to live with a random?) It's so ****ing lazy. At least when Caleb left we knew he was visiting his mom/moving to a ghost town. Paige just boards a ****ing plane. I agree with you too, jace, I don't think she'd give up Stanford without a fight, but I think she (would have - before her personality transplant) would give it up for a dream of her & Emily. Now? Who the **** knows? According to the writers she probably doesn't even remember Em's name. The more you/I think about it, the more ill-thought-out, rushed & insulting it becomes (apart from the actual airport scene). I'm leaning more & more towards the writers wanted to use their fall-back create drama through messing up the couples. From Bryan's (ridiculous, insulting) tweet they can obviously think of nothing else. Em & Paige had only just had a break been messed up so it would have been hard to break them again with Paige still being around - they've just shown us that not even the return of Ali was going to break them apart for good, so the only way is to get Paige out of town. (It still makes zero sense, but I keep trying!) (JAF do start on Bryan's tweet, please! It really deserves it.) Why they wanted to introduce Talia I don't know. It's like we're supposed to care about her relationship/marriage break-up - but no one does because by now the audience is jaded & knows she's an irrelevant time-filler, she's added nothing to Emily's growth or development that we didn't already know & has, in fact, lessened her character to someone who seems desperate & unable to be alone & someone who would be happy in a secret relationship. It's done a lot of damage to her I think & it's such a shame. It's undermined her growth that was so vitally demonstrated just 8 or 9 episodes ago. & for me, it's undermined her relationship with Paige too. Unless it is all a really ****ing cunning plan to show Em losing her mind when Paige isn't around (hello Emison?) & then she regains it when Paige returns. I DON'T KNOW & THIS SHOW IS MAKING ME ****ING CRAZY. I apologise for my swearing (again). |
