A lot of people on here seem to assume that Charlotte was killed intentionally but I think she wasn't.
I think Charlotte was still mentally in. Her killer entered the bell tower to talk to her and she attacked them. They grabbed the closest thing to them and hit her with it.
When her killer realised that she was dead, they threw her from the bell tower because they didn't want to be caught.
This makes sense because Lorenzo mentioned in 6x11 that Charlotte 'was dead BEFORE she was thrown from the bell tower'.
