Yeah if there had been a season 3, I don't doubt they could have brought him back somehow. The shows brought dead people back before, and that's the best part of having shows with magic/supernatural stuff going on, anything is pretty much possible

They brought him back once, via AU, in S2. I coud've definitely seen them bringing him back again. Maybe having the Keeper or Darken Rahl finding a way to bring him back from the Underworld, in some way other than as a baneling, and kind of using him to get at Cara and the rest of the quest members. It'd be against his will, of course, but it would've had potential.

And it would be amazing to have a story arc for him having to overcome the whole baneling aspect - or deal with it. Him and Cara could have have an epic romance made from that

If they could've worked it into a plausible Leo/Cara SL, I definitely think that anything that transpired within it would have inevitably strengthened their bond. It definitely would have been tepid, and messy, but at the end of the day the feelings they have would have grown and triumphed if for no other reason than Cara deserved it.

Agreed. I loved seeing them together, I think this relationship was built up better than R&K, here Leo at least was trying to win Cara's heart. Granted, it was rushed, they were jumping days or even weeks ahead, thanks to Richard's storyline, but I liked that Leo really loved Cara for what and who she was, and he didn't give up trying. I think there was more to him than what we've seen.

But like you said, his death was needed. At least we got some sweet scenes with them in that incredibly stupid AU (I hate the way they ended the show).

One more thing. I'm reading previous Cara/Tab threads and I see that people here are also questioning what Cara was feeling towards Leo in the original timeline. They weren't fully in love, yet, but I think Cara felt more than just caring about him, she was starting to fall in love with him.

And while I tend not to believe that they were as "in love" as Zedd made it seem when he talked about them after Leo's death, I think it was probably as close to true love that Cara had ever experienced. Unlike with Rahl, she wasn't bound to Leo. It wasn't submission, or admiration. It was raw feeling.
