Now....wait....

Does Zedd know he is Richard's grandfather from the beginning on the show or no? I can't recall at the moment.

I don't think he did but...I can't be certain. He thought he was his father for a minute, right?

No. I think he always knew that Richard was his grandson. Wasn't he the one telling the sto-- wait. Was the other woman claiming she was his mother LOL

I think he knew because in the story he tells to Richard in the first episode about The Seeker//Darken Rahl he mentions that he had to take Richard out of his mothers arms so Zedd could keep the child safe. Also in Brennidon when Richard tells Zedd & Kahlan about the fact he met his mother [which turns out to be false], Zedd seems to react with a small glimmer of hope at the thought that he daughter might still be alive after all the years that have passed.

That makes perfect sense, actually.

All this crazy lineage messes with my head and I have trouble keeping it straight half the time.

That is actually one of the few promo pics I've seen of Zedd that I like. Usually they're...not so glam, I guess. I think he sometimes gets overlooked as a character because he's not young and hot like everyone else.

The whole book-to-show family dynamic really screws me up sometimes. With all the changes and everything.
