Here comes my list:

1. Clarke - Leadership qualities, smart, resourceful, brave, always ready to sacrifice herself to save the people she loves

2. Bellamy - Leadership qualities, brave, inspiring, always ready to sacrifice himself to save the people he loves

3. Raven - Smart, technical genius, brave

4. Octavia - Brave, fighting skills, never gives up, cares about all people - not only about her clan

5. Abby - Doctor, smart, brave

6. Kane - Leadership qualities, open minded, brave, smart

7. Monty - Smart, technical skills, resourceful, brave

8. Jackson - Doctor, smart

9. Indra - Leadership qualities, brave, fighting skills

10. Murphy - Survival artist, is needed for the sass

If I could add more people on the list, then I would add these people, because I like their interesting characters:

Harper, Miller, Niylah, Echo, Emori, Gaia

not listing youth and potential for reproduction, that goes w/o saying
trying to keep this f/m 50:50 and racially diverse for the gene pool and all

Also making lists for survival is morally ewww but here goes:

1. Clarke (ruthless pragmatism it was these peeps need, not the endless dillydallying and not being able to make decisions. she's made mistakes, but who hasn't? some medical knowledge)
2. Bellamy (for his empathy and ppl skills, also Clarke is better when he's around and vice versa)
3. Raven (she is a female MacGyver, nuff said)
4. Monty (agro knowledge, tech wiz)
5. Murphy (scrappy, survival instinct, sass)
6. Octavia (Bellamy would be unbearable in that bunker otherwise )
7. Abby (I know I know she is too old but I have 4 spots left and don't know what to do with them)
8. Kane (he is the ultimate daddy and has a calming influence on pretty much everyone around)
9. Niylah (because we need grounders on the list. her sexual preferences if f/f only make reproduction an issue but wth. she brings knowledge that is outside everyone else's expertise)
10. Indra (again, I had spots to fill and Indra rocks not sure how useful she'd be though )

Kate. He would be totally unbearable without Octavia in there, though I kind of disagree that it's his sole purpose. With things bound to get tense in the bunker from time to time, his inspiring words would probably come in handy too.
