Sarah's Top 5 Most Memorable Lines from the Show

1. 'Who we are, and who we need to be to survive are very different things."

Four seasons in and I still definitively see this as the one line which defines the show in a nutshell. A lot of times, the characters have had to
"divorce" who they are at their core; from the actions which they have had to take to ensure their survival and to protect people that they love.
Even though I don't necessarily think this is something that they can fall back on to justify their actions and that ends don't always justifies
the means of arriving at that result, this line speaks to what a difficult world the characters live in and how it has applied to most, if not all,
the characters at some point during the show.



2. "Maybe, there are no good guys."

Again, another line which stands out to me, and I love that Abby first said it to Clarke and that Clarke in turn repeats it back to Bellamy.
It's fitting since both Clarke/Bellamy have struggled with reconciling the perception of themselves vs. who they truly are now, due to
the actions which they've taken. Which is why it kind of irked me that it was kind of ret-conned in season 4 when Abby told Clarke
that she is one of the good guys, because I don't think it can be simply categorised in that manner, and that there's nothing wrong
with having main characters like Clarke being "undefined" in that area.



3. "In peace, may you leave this shore.
In love, may you find the next.
Safe passage on your travels, until our final journey to the ground.
May we meet again."

The Traveller's Blessing has always been a theme which runs through the season, and I love the different contexts that it's been used in, by both the
Arkers and Grounders too. It's a simple yet poignant line used by the characters to say goodbye to their loved ones, either temporarily or forever
and it's one of the lines which resounds with me, always.




4. "Together."

Even though this line has been primarily said by Bellamy and Clarke to each other, it also resounds with me since these characters have been through
a lot together, through thick and thin so it also applies to those relationships as well. And of course, it means a lot to me since it's reflective of the
BC relationship which I love to bits, from a platonic and romantic angle. A simple line which conveys so much.



5. "There are some lines that you can't uncross."

It's ironic that Bellamy said this line to Finn as it would ultimately be reflective of Finn's end on the show and also part of Bellamy's own arc in
season 3 ... it's thematic of his journey in season 4 that he is trying to make amends for his past actions, which no matter how well intentioned - was
ultimately wrong. And this line just speaks to again, the journey that most of the characters go through as they try to navigate/balance between trying to
survive and doing the right thing, and sometimes how they falter, despite their best intentions.
