IGN: How early did you know that there would be a romantic side to their relationship? You could see the bond between the characters and see that Clarke was becoming someone meaningful to Lexa and you had to say a lot with just your face, since, as you note, she’s not a character that’s going to openly say all of these things. She’s very controlled. But did you know you should play it with a sense of romance?

Debnam-Carey: I think what really drove it was that they were two characters that were both in very unique but similar positions and they were able to see a bit of each other in one another, if that makes sense - unlike anyone else. They both had to step up to power at a very young age and that’s a hard thing to do. They kind of missed out having a teenage-hood or a childhood, really. It’s been so hostile, so quickly. So I think it actually grew out of a genuine like for each other. The first time they’d maybe stopped and gone, “Wait a second, I connect with you in a different way than I connect with other people.”

Eliza and I get along so well, because we’re such good friends, so whenever we’re on set we get along so well that it helped to feel some of that. But it came as a bit of a surprise to me, the way it unfolded. I didn’t expect for that to happen so quickly. It was alluded to and people were guessing about it for a while but it actually took both of us a little bit by surprise.

So proud, I wasnt expecting to be this far into #3 already. You guys were on fire. Maybe #4 before the episode. :lol:

Alycia does however, need to give me somw warning when her face pops up. :thud: especially as lexa. Lexa just has so much sex appeal, and shes strong, caring, badass. The whole package. I dont blame Clarke for uhauling to her city within seconds

Who could blame Clarke? Lexa is powerful and intense in everything she does. Her romantic gestures and her soft and gentle way she kissed her omg. :thud: Poor Clarke never stood a chance tbh.

Its been a few days, and ahhhh, the way lexa os looking at her. Drag her to that creepy bed, Clarke. I say looking. But that is an intense stare. If I was Clarke my clothes would have spontaneously combusted by now.

Also this year we have a clexa theme. We have our own score of music. Is this show even real. Theyve been so good to us.

I am so excited to hear more of the Clexa theme. The composer said it's an "evolving motif" :thud: I bet we'll hear bits and pieces of it through each episode and then it will culminate in a huge moment between the two of them.

Yeah, we heard the start of the theme at the bow scene and I think we'll be hearing more of it in the next episode.
