I was hired part-time (3 days a week) but I'm being increased to 5 for at least July. I'm thinking of the money. My trip in October is making my bank account cry. :goof:

:lmao: Nah, you're too kind, Janet but for some reason, I always think that you guys are in Vancouver (maybe because the cast is :goof: ... my excuse).

That's good that you can make some extra cash before your trip! That's precisely why I decided (sigh) not to go on any trips this year. I plan to save up. But I'm sad and want to travel. :bawl:

Lost in Translation 07-03-2017 06:07 PM

Did :ff: eat my post? :irked: I could have sworn I replied to you, Sarah. At any rate saving money is wise, it's not very fun though is it?

Lisa, I feel you. :bawl:

Well I don't have work tomorrow. Yay 4th of July! And yay for actually having plans! :yay: Turns out one of my brothers and his family is visiting his wife's family that live nearby so I'll be seeing him and his family tomorrow. I'm excited. I didn't get to see his kids when I traveled to Phoenix for our cousin's wedding a couple months ago. I got to see him and his wife but not the 4 adorable kids. So I'm stoked to get to see them.

Had a pretty good weekend. I was able to make up with my best friend. I got more of the story of what had happened the previous weekend. I'm still not happy with her about it but staying angry isn't doing either of us any good.

Then yesterday a friend from work just randomly called me to checkup and see how I'm doing. He knows how much I've been struggling with my sister leaving and also knew about the fight with my best friend. It was a simple thing for him to call me but also meant a lot.

So recall that last Thursday I had taken fudge to work for a potluck. Well I deliberately left it overnight on Thursday because there was still about half the pan left and I hoped my team would continue to pick away at it. But then I meant to take what was left home Friday evening. And, of course, totally forgot it. But let me tell you, so glad I did. Cause this afternoon I went to get what was left so I wouldn't forget it again. Then I turn around and see hair dude standing by my desk waiting for a piece of the fudge. Then after I had some of it I realized it didn't taste as good 4 days later. So I send him a message apologizing that it didn't taste as good. Next thing I know he runs up to my desk and takes the pyrex pan with the remaining fudge away. Then he messages me to tell me it's his now. Further joking about the fudge and the pyrex pan ensued. As silly as it may sound - it totally made my day. :sigh:

Happy Fourth of July to those in the U.S.!

Janet, that is odd. And yes, not fun one bit. :(

Haha, Kenni ... that fudge stealing guy. :lmao: Do you feel like he's flirting more with you now?

Hey! :group_hug:

Lost in Translation 07-04-2017 03:36 PM

Kenni, that was really nice of the guy to call and check up on you. Also, even I can see hair dude is flirting with you at this point.   Finally, lucky! I hope you have a blast today. (pun is 100% intended)

Sarah, it is but it's okay.

Paulina :back_hug: How are you?

destroyer of worlds 07-04-2017 05:05 PM

Welcome back, Paulina. :back_hug:

I'm so stressed this week, hopefully next week will be better. :thud: Been at work until almost 10pm every night. *flashbacks to my old job* My bosses sense it though and I do appreciate that they're trying to lighten my workload now.

kenni727 07-04-2017 11:05 PM

Only saw a little bit of fireworks. I really didn't want to deal with the crowds so I just saw what little bit was viewable from my apartment. But all in all it's been a good 4th of July. Got to see my brother and his kids. Now finishing it off by watching Independence Day.

And yeah, I'd say he's flirting. He's flirted a bit in the past, but he's also confused me. Well he still confuses me but I'm a bit more hopeful. :fingers_crossed:

Sarah, hope things get better at work. Which reminds me, I have a test to take next month that I should really start studying for. :look:

Lost in Translation 07-05-2017 06:18 PM

Sarah, sorry, what is it that you do again?

I had a bit of a day today (my day started off bad, ended up worse, and culminated in me finding out my favourite tea was discontinued. :bawl:) so now I'm off to watch some Netflix.

Kenni, that sounds ideal. I was half-tempted to buy a bus ticket to Ottawa but the crowds + my sore ankle = no way, jose.
