Almost got into a car accident today because an a-hole didn't want to stop at an intersection and it was almost a head-on accident. Was shaking for a while right after, it would have been a bad one if I was going faster/didn't swerve in time. Sometimes, I really don't like driving.

Ehm, I'm Heidi. And I LOVE The 100. But unfortunately not many people where I live has heard of the show or seen it. Or they're just not a fangirl like me. So I've turned to the internet where people will understand me

And I'd also very much like to know who's going to Unity Days in January?

Hi there, Heidi!! Great to have you on board with us. Lots of great threads and posters here so feel free to post with us and do ask if you're unsure about anything. We will be happy to help, especially knowing how overwhelming it can be when you first join a forum.

By the way, I also live in a country where there's not much coverage of the show or people I can discuss with so this is my go-to place for sure.

I don't think that any of us are going to Unity Days (as of yet ) ... are you planning to? A few posters have been to Wizard World Con and my co mod, Lisa, will be going to Fan Expo in Canada soonish.

Sounds slightly silly to say, but I'm glad i'm not the only one who feels a bit "alone" in my fandom in real life.

Just got my tax returns, so I'm all saved up for Unity Days. Will be my very first con, so I wanted to make it a proper one. I'm super excited, but a little freaked out as I don't know anyone who's going and have never been to Canada

No, I get it. It's frustrating ... feeling a bit alone in your RL fandom so it's nice/refreshing to find people who love it as much as you do, online. It's how most of us came to the board in the first place, too. Though I was surprised the other day when I went to a toy shop to get some Funkos for the show and the guy at the store told me that they did have stock but someone just came in to buy them before me. Sucks that I can't get them but nice to know that there are fans in my country.

That's exciting that you get to go to your first convention soon. I think that you'll be fine and hopefully have tons of fun too. The posters here who have went to similar events (and in particular, Unity Days was rated very highly by fans who went for the one earlier this year ) had really positive experiences with fellow fans and with the castmembers too.

Hi Heidi, I don't know many people IRL who are into The 100 but I've been online for many other shows and I was lucky in that regard since I knew where to turn to. Vancouver is pretty lovely, I've only been there a bit, usually when I went out west it was to Vancouver Island and that was 20 years ago. As for cons, I haven't been to any but if Meta Station (Claire and Erin) are there I'd go to see them. Actually, you should check out their podcast, they're really insightful.

Sarah, I think my weekend's going a bit better than yours at this point. I went to see my cousin and her son today. He liked his birthday gift which he received 2 months after the fact (his mom cancelled his birthday party twice and then we just never got around to seeing each other since then) My sister, my mom, a friend and I went to go see the fireworks tonight but we either got the time or place wrong, we heard another borough's fireworks but didn't see much. There were fireflies out though, so that was cool.

Glad to hear that, Janet. Ooh, fireworks would have been nice to watch but firefly watching is cool too. I did that once.

Ugh, so full. Had waffles (topped with fried chicken) for lunch but now I'm so stuffed that I probably can't eat much dinner later.

I'd have been more disappointed but we have 7 more firework sessions this summer. This is the first time they had the public vote on which countries to invite to participate. I was spoiled by living in the city with the largest fireworks festival in the world (some call it the most prestigious but people on Wikipedia don't cite their sources).

Wow, 7 more? Yeah, I'd say that would qualify Vancouver for that moniker then.

My god, where did the weekend go? This one seemed to pass especially fast.

I have tomorrow off, thankfully. I dread the change in my work schedule this month. I've barely been able to stand it as it normally is, it'll only get worse now. It's next week that I'm dreading since it'll be back to a 5-day week.

So, you usually have a four day work week? Boo for having to go back to a full week but at least it means more money?
