Hey. I thought I'd introduce myself here first. I'm a huge fan, lest off somewhere in the middle of the third season, so I'm starting from the beginning to refresh my memory. I barely remember what the first season was like, but I'm excited!

Btw, I'm Mal.

Karma Police 05-21-2017 03:43 AM

TFTNT!

Sarah, the public transportation here is really good, there are of course some things to complain about but generally we have the subway and a lot of buses and trams and every bus has free wifi, so I'm all set.

Hey Mal! Welcome, I'm Paulina. :)

sasskit 05-21-2017 03:53 AM

Hi Mal! I'm Kit. Welcome to the board! I hope you will find something interesting in the many threads dedicated to the characters and show! :)

Ok, so I may have accidentally killed a butterfly by stepping on it and my niece bawled her eyes out the entire way home and when we got inside, she went "you murderer" and ran into her room and her parents gave me this look, "was the victim a bug?" :look:

Karma Police 05-21-2017 04:01 AM

 The parents knew what's up. Kids can be so over-dramatic but they are still adorable.

Forget to say that the title is great.

sasskit 05-21-2017 04:05 AM

^ I was so awkward trying to talk to her though, and she gave me the evil eye up until I caved and bribed her with ice cream, then she lit up and the butterfly was never mentioned again. :look:

Karma Police 05-21-2017 04:07 AM

Sounds like my niece. Ice cream is the best bribe. How old is your niece?

sasskit 05-21-2017 04:14 AM

^ She's 7. It's a weird age for her. She's reacting very strongly to things. She said to me: "blind people have guide dogs so they don't walk into things. Maybe you should have a dog too?" and so I go, "But I'm not blind" and she just looks at me, "you don't see where you're going, so how is that different?" :look:

Karma Police 05-21-2017 04:20 AM

My niece is only 3 (will turn 4 in September).

I have to leave, meeting friends for lunch. Bye!

sasskit 05-21-2017 05:01 AM

^ re. my niece, she's a bit slow in her development and the doctors say it's because she was born very sickly, she had some sort of heart condition and spent her first year pretty much in hospitals having several surgeries and long recovery periods. It was like she closed in on herself somehow, she even slowed down growing physically and she wasn't making as many sounds as a normal baby would - she was so quiet, except for when she was crying. She started walking and talking a bit later than normal children would, but she's not stupid, she's just a little slower in development, especially emotionally. The doctors don't think there's any brain damage because of the heart condition but I don't know. She's below average when it comes to height and weight for children of her age. She can read and write, but she needs some extra care with a calm environment in school. She gets stressed and unfocused if it's too noisy.

I was wondering if the title was too morbid but we did say that in the previous thread. Lisa needs to start arming herself with weapons, I think. (I have a pepper spray with me, most days)

Hey Mal! Great to have you on board, I'm Sarah. :) I have to say, your name sounds SO familiar for some reason. Do feel free to join us in the episode discussion/character threads once you've caught up! :)

I'm still not over the free wi-fi on every bus. We actually have free buses here (in the city) which is pretty good, but there's still not that many places where you get free wi-fi. And the trains here break down quite often. :look:

 It must happen a lot. Sorry to hear that she has some developmental issues but I'm sure that she'll find her stride in time. Kids develop at their own pace, in any case. :) And ice cream fixes everything.

Karma Police 05-21-2017 11:32 AM

I'm sorry to hear that she has some development issue too. But as you said, she just needs more time and focus.

 Warsaw is really good when it comes to free wi-fi. There's is also a hot spot in the city centre.

Oh yes, she's a happy kid mostly. It's just that her emotional development comes in weird phases, but she's doing fine, considering the doctors didn't have much hope she would live. Her traumatic first year of life stunted her growth and development a little but she's slowly catching up to the others, but she needs a calm and stressless environment. She's reading and writing like the others in her age, but she's still different from them, you know, smaller than children that age, and you know what children are like:

kids: "why are you special?"

her: "I'm not special"

kids: "but you're so small"

her: "my mother says I have a big heart"

Honest to god, kids are brilliant. :lmao:

Karma Police 05-21-2017 12:48 PM

 It's great that her parents don't make her feel like there is something different about her. Very important for a child's confidence.

:lmao: She sounds like quite the character to be around. I love it.

Thanks for the warm welcome. :D
