Hey. I thought I'd introduce myself here first. I'm a huge fan, lest off somewhere in the middle of the third season, so I'm starting from the beginning to refresh my memory. I barely remember what the first season was like, but I'm excited!
Btw, I'm Mal. |
TFTNT!
Sarah, the public transportation here is really good, there are of course some things to complain about but generally we have the subway and a lot of buses and trams and every bus has free wifi, so I'm all set. Hey Mal! Welcome, I'm Paulina. :) |
Hi Mal! I'm Kit. Welcome to the board! I hope you will find something interesting in the many threads dedicated to the characters and show! :)
Ok, so I may have accidentally killed a butterfly by stepping on it and my niece bawled her eyes out the entire way home and when we got inside, she went "you murderer" and ran into her room and her parents gave me this look, "was the victim a bug?" :look: |
 The parents knew what's up. Kids can be so over-dramatic but they are still adorable.
Forget to say that the title is great. |
^ I was so awkward trying to talk to her though, and she gave me the evil eye up until I caved and bribed her with ice cream, then she lit up and the butterfly was never mentioned again. :look:
|
Sounds like my niece. Ice cream is the best bribe. How old is your niece?
|
^ She's 7. It's a weird age for her. She's reacting very strongly to things. She said to me: "blind people have guide dogs so they don't walk into things. Maybe you should have a dog too?" and so I go, "But I'm not blind" and she just looks at me, "you don't see where you're going, so how is that different?" :look:
|
My niece is only 3 (will turn 4 in September).
I have to leave, meeting friends for lunch. Bye! |
^ re. my niece, she's a bit slow in her development and the doctors say it's because she was born very sickly, she had some sort of heart condition and spent her first year pretty much in hospitals having several surgeries and long recovery periods. It was like she closed in on herself somehow, she even slowed down growing physically and she wasn't making as many sounds as a normal baby would - she was so quiet, except for when she was crying. She started walking and talking a bit later than normal children would, but she's not stupid, she's just a little slower in development, especially emotionally. The doctors don't think there's any brain damage because of the heart condition but I don't know. She's below average when it comes to height and weight for children of her age. She can read and write, but she needs some extra care with a calm environment in school. She gets stressed and unfocused if it's too noisy.

I was wondering if the title was too morbid but we did say that in the previous thread. Lisa needs to start arming herself with weapons, I think. (I have a pepper spray with me, most days)

I'm sorry to hear that she has some development issue too. But as you said, she just needs more time and focus.

kids: "why are you special?" her: "I'm not special" kids: "but you're so small" her: "my mother says I have a big heart" Honest to god, kids are brilliant. :lmao: |
 It's great that her parents don't make her feel like there is something different about her. Very important for a child's confidence.
