Kit, that's great that your niece is that confident with herself especially at this age. Kids can be pretty vicious so she needs that kind of attitude to deal with them and also be happy with herself.

Thanks. It'll be hectic until Friday (important/stressful client to meet that day) but hopefully I can breathe a bit after that. And I'm taking next Friday off.

My day was good (so far at least :lol). Still busy week ahead but it's manageable.

Bah! This weekend was horrible. On Friday morning the cute guy from my department that I pseudo have a crush on and I were messaging each other - which hadn't happened since I moved to this department - he was actually talking about how he doesn't really know me because we never hang out outside of work. Was seeing if I could get this to lead to us making plans together. But then my father called needing me to take him to the hospital.

My dad is okay. Well...mostly. He has kidney stones. He'd had a procedure done last week to break up a big one. Well the largest piece still left was trying to pass on Friday and was causing him immense pain. They got him lots more pain meds and sent him home Friday afternoon. Then I had to go to my sister's to watch her kids for the weekend - she was flying out of town that night right after work. But she and the kids had been sick all week. A couple of the kids were on the mend while two of them had just begun puking that day. Then my niece had a bladder infection. Had to take her to the doctor. Got her on antibiotics but she was still in considerable pain for a while. Broke my heart.

But on top of that this other guy I've been talking to for a while and gone out with a few times was having a hard time with some family stuff Friday night and texted me about going out. I would have so loved to go out with him, but couldn't just leave the kids. So two possibilities with guys I'm interested in were shot down for the sake of helping family in immense pain. Like, really? Of all the weekends...

Good news is my niece is much better as are her brothers. I think my sister's family is finally over the sickness that was consuming that house for a week. And she'd gone out of town because they finally got an offer on their house so she was flying out to meet her husband where they're moving to to look for another house. They put an offer in for one. Here's hoping they get it.
