But can you even really imagine doing even half the horrible things Bellamy and Clarke have done?

I have mixed feelings about the way they continue to support each other and forgive each other's horrible acts. On the one hand I think they face some impossible choices and it's important that there be someone to have your back, to support you and let you know you aren't alone in this personal hell you've created. To have someone who won't judge you for your horrible choices because they've made equally egregious ones. But then on the flip side of that it enables further bad choices. It's like so long as the other says it's okay then go ahead with whatever it is. They've made each other their moral compass and in reality neither should be that. This is why they need Monty.

No! I can't! Which is part of why I can't glorify the relationship.

It's all fine and good to know that somebody has your back... but they haven't had each others' backs in a bunch of notable instances. If somebody who is supposed to be your friend repeatedly does terrible things to you, I don't think that's any sort of support or comfort. A person who isn't always on your side and is willing to see you get hurt if it suits their current interests is not your best friend.

Monty is a good example of how to actually be a friend.

Point. I guess it's just that in this messed up world you take what you can get. Ugh. This show is becoming more and more depressing.

It's very depressing. It's just that if I were them, I would "take" other, less back-stabby characters as best friends first. Again, Monty would have been a really good choice for anybody.

Monty was amazing. I miss him. But at the same time I really enjoyed the ending he got. Glad he doesn't have to see the ****show that is Sanctum.

I miss Monty, too. But I do think he got a really good ending. He and Harper lived a happier life than any of the other characters. Which, by the way, makes it a little weird for me that it feels like they're mourning Monty in a sad way. Sometimes people die on their own terms in a healthy way and mourning them is really just you feeling sad for yourself that you don't get to see them anymore. It doesn't make any sense to be sad for Monty, though. He won. He lived a long, happy life.

Jordan is pretty fantastic as a consolation prize for losing Monty, though. Where was he this week when we needed him?

Wouldn't have fit the plot to have him around cause he definitely would have spoken up.

Can we talk about the actual episode now, please? We're getting a little off-track, now.

Chair is an emotionally (and if I recall correctly, physically) abusive relationship and I don't quite get the comparison. If you guys want to discuss Bellarke in this capacity feel free to take it to the general discussion thread.

If Jordan was in this episode, I think that we would have seen something different play out on-screen and he would have had some choice words for Bellamy, like he did last week. Monty would have had some choice words too, I'm sure of it. Not just for Bellamy but for everyone else. Remember in Mount Weather when he woke up and was concerned about Clarke? He would be like that now, too. Maybe him and Bellamy could brainstorm together and think about it. This is why Raven needs to come back - as pissed off as she is/was with Clarke, there's no way she would just let her go without thinking twice about any possible other options.

i found this episode slow. IDK, I just couldnt really get into it.

I did enjoy the bellamy/murphy moments. I also sort of like the guy that Diyoza and Octavia are interacting with, but that storyline is totally lost on me, I barely pay attention to it.

I enjoyed Raven's scenes but I still hate how angry she always is.

I miss clarke already, which is strange because shes not my favorite, but idk, the episodes feel off without her. Bellamy's reaction to her death was really good.

I feel you on the Diyoza/Octavia, stuff, Alexa. Great potential for the dynamic, both are excellent actresses and can play well off one another, but the plot with the anomaly/Children of Gabriel is so convoluted and at the same time boring? It's odd.

Wow, it’s so interesting how differently each of us reacts to the show! I think the Octavia/Diyoza storyline is pure gold—I love how the two actors play off of each other, I find the character dynamic so interesting as they’re both on a quest for redemption but are on very different stages of that journey, Xavier seems to me to be an intriguing addition to the mix, and the anomaly/CoG stuff while bonkers is fun and is finally giving us a chance to explore this new world outside of the radiation shield.

I’m always a little sad when the show cuts away from this storyline.

Right there with you Brooklyn.
I think pairing up Diyoza with Octavia was a stroke of genius on the part of the writers/ Jason.

Not sure if I said this before, but I believe she is uniquely qualified to deal with Octavia and help her overcome the past. She probably understands better than anyone what Octavia is going through and I love their dynamic and the snarky banter

And I am all here for the fantastical elements of this crazy time anomaly, healing tree sap story, mud holes included

If Xavier got to stick around for a while, I would not complain

The banter is the best. Diyoza is not going to coddle Octavia through this. But neither is she blaming her for everything. She's just honest.

I totally agree, Kate. But even though Diyoza seems older and wiser and there to help guide Octavia through this, I think Diyoza also has a corner to turn and perhaps even some redemption to seek for herself, even though she denied it to Xavier. She didn’t like being remembered as one of the worst bad guys in history. I’m really looking forward to seeing where they go with her character.

Plus, remember how when Xavier first showed up we thought he was Lincoln 2.0 and a new love interest for Octavia? What if he’s Diyoza’s love interest instead? She deserves someone nice after what’s-his-name last season!
