I really liked those Tweet thoughts shared by April and Sarah. They helped me understand more where both Bellamy and Clarke are coming from. While most of me knew that after watching the episode, it just made it more clear that neither was wrong or right. The most thing I'm really understanding a lot more now is the head and the heart reversal. Clarke has definitely become S1-4 Bellamy and Bellamy has become S1-4 Clarke. But now they have to both learn to find that balance. Although I do feel Bellamy is more there than Clarke is.
The only thing that really upset me is Clarke leaving Bellamy behind. I know she was mad and feeling betrayed and that's totally understandable, but she shouldn't take Bellamy's possible death lightly because she hasn't had a chance to cool down yet. It's something that can't be undone and she would truly regret turning her back on him if it happened. The only thing I'm clinging on to is a small belief from her that he'll be fine, that Octavia wouldn't really kill or let Bellamy die. Otherwise, those looks Clarke gave towards Bellamy/Echo becomes meaningless. Even the radio calls will become less special if she was willing to shrug Bellamy's death aside while upset over one (I get that it was a big one) betrayal. Anyway, besides that minor part, I'm still optimistic. I feel like I can handle this sort of angst more than other lover angst. __________________

Just finished the episode. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Bellamy saying spacekru is his family wasn’t what I thought it was going to be. I took it as Madi is Clarke’s family, spacekru is his family, and then he and Clarke have each other, like they always have. What they have is hard to define.
I don’t like that Clarke slapped him, but as a mother, you want to protect your children. She was realllllly upset at that point, and I get that. Slapping was unnecessary, but I guess since it’s a TV show, they want it to be dramatic. But what I really don’t like that is that there are three people in the arena risking everything for her (Bellamy the most) so that she could live, but then she’s like, “Peace out! We’re going to take off, good luck fighting to the death because of stuff you did for me!” Okay, Gaia’s motives weren’t for Clarke and maybe not Indra’s, completely, but you know what I mean. Obviously Madi isn’t going to let them fight in that arena, so something will happen next week to stop it. And let’s hope Bellamy and Clarke hash things out because they’re really going to need to. __________________

It's true that this bothers me a bit a too. I really hope that next episode, Clarke will reexamine her decision of leaving Bellamy behind, possibly to die. Otherwise, everything that happened before will really feel kinda meaningless But I'm also guessing that she doesn't feel like he cares about her much after he came back from space, but this goes both ways. There is still so much neither of them knows. They really NEED that talk. Still, not an excuse for leaving him do die though. __________________

I’m not even upset about this episode at all. It showed us that Bellamy is almost completely the head now, and Clarke is the heart. We knew this would happen.
They are both desperate to protect their families, and Clarke should remember that Bellamy poisoned his own sister (potentially killin her) in order to save everyone, which she was not opposed to. She can’t stay mad at him forever re: Madi __________________

Wasn't a fan of the episode. I tend to always find something to enjoy but not so much this time.
I'm sure Bellamy and Clarke will find a way to move past this. I think it's my Octavia fatigue that's doing this to me. __________________

That was hard to watch, and I still dislike that Bellamy went ahead with the plan even though Clarke was deadset against it. However, I do still understand why he did what he did, but I also understand why Clarke is angry/upset with him too. Did you guys see it as Bellamy manipulating Madi into agreeing to the ascension though? I'm of two minds about it. I still need to process all this. We seriously better get some good scenes out of this unexpected angst though, and the best damn ending for them by the finale. __________________

I definitely made me feel awkward and it did feel manipulative
I was thinking omg how low of you to manipulate a child like that But then again, the stakes are incredibly high and while being the commander might be more dangerous for Madi, it seemed the only way to keep the maximum number of people safe. He might rationalize it for himself by saying they could take the chip out after the mess has been cleared up __________________

Kate, and though it doesn't change that Madi is a child and for her to take on that role is much too heavy, I felt that Bellamy truly thought that she would be safe with the Flame (and that's why he freaked out when she didn't awaken immediately) and that it was still the best plan that they had, under the circumstances.
Having said that, this direction that they're taking Bellarke is a dangerous one and I still don't know if I trust the writers anymore with it. __________________

I didn’t see it as manipulative. More desperate. He told Madi the truth about it all and let her decide. __________________

Steph. Miss you BTW, hun. How's the family doing?
Yeah, I was worried if he was going to lie to her and tell her that Clarke is okay with what he was asking her to do. But he told her the truth and let her decide, even that line about keeping Clarke alive ... that was true, because if Octavia woke up, Clarke would be executed. __________________
