Enormous sports addict, lol. Played soccer and basketball my entire life, then tore two ACL knee ligaments back-to-back (within six months of each other) so my soccer scholarship to Ohio State went down the drain, lol.
Anyway, of course I’m watching World Cup! Russia had no problem today. My USA did not make it though, but I’m beyond psyched North America got World Cup 2026. Since I’m sort of on my own this WC, I can pull for any country I like. I’ll pull for Germany and Poland for you guys. My Polish paternal Great Grandparents came to the States many years ago. They were from Warsaw so I have 50% Polish American blood. My mom’s side is Slovak so I’m basically half Polish, half Slovak. I’ve never been to Germany but my dad’s an electrical engineer and spent many summers in Europe on business over the years. He loved doing business in Germany. Loved the people and the country as a whole. So yes, there you go... Go Germany and Poland, I found my two teams to pull for. |

Thanks so much for the support Michelle
I'm so sorry for you that you was forced to give up your sports career because of knee injuries ... that must be hard for you The USA Soccer Team shouln't have fired Jürgen Klinsmann I think they had their must successful time with him as their coach and I'm sure the USA would have made it to the 2018 World Cup if they wouldn't have fired him Whatever, I hope the USA will be part of the next WC in Qatar It's great that North America got the World Cup 2026 You have a lot european blood, Michelle ... maybe that's the reason why you like soccer so much ... Do you speak the Polish or the Slovak language? I'm happy that your dad likes it to work in Germany So we can cheer for Germany on sunday and for Poland on Tuesday together girls __________________

Thanks, Sonja. I'm following a friend who is extending her work trip there ... it's her first time in Europe so I'm excited that she gets to visit it finally. Quote:
And Sonja, I totally didn't know that The Netherlands aren't in the WC this round ... oops. Michelle, that's awesome ... didn't know that you're part Polish. __________________

also Italy ... I can't imagine a WC without Italy ... but they didn't made the qualification, too Spain has fired their coach a few days ago ... what a crazy soccer world We should root for Australia to support Bob's and Eliza's team. My son has asked Bob at the Dystopia M&G which sports he likes to watch the most Bob has said that he watches the Premiere League and the Australian Football League I think Bob will watch the WC games of his Socceroos __________________

Wow, Italy too? It just shows that you can never be complacent and assume that you're always good enough to qualify. Wow.
That's great about Australia and yes, I'm sure that Bob (and possibly Eliza) are strongly rooting the team on. Going to watch The Incredibles 2 tomorrow ... first one was amazing so really looking forward to this one too. __________________
