I don’t exactly agree that Jason was flat out lying (I’ll call it misdirecting instead) or that people who won’t see the romantic undertones are wrong, but other than that, I agree with these tweets.

Yeah, I don't want to bring the crap from the last thread over to this new one.. But I think many of us were confused as to what particular thing Bob was tweeting about.. I just found this response interesting... I personally don't think the what is as important as to why he was understandably upset. Regardless if it was referencing Bellamy's storyline, or Bellarke's, or both... Just, if you are interested, it is a good response?

Thanks for bringing that over, Karina! I absolutely agree, typically I don’t like it when actors are shady in public but in this case, I totally understand why Bob feels the need to say this publicly. The audience sees what the show is trying to project, period. So, it’s simply a case of TPTB deliberately projecting something onscreen including directing the actors to portray it in a way that is decidedly not platonic ... so for them to then turn it around and say that “oh that’s not our intention, you guys read it wrongly” is disrespectful to the fans and an insult to the actors who were told to play it that way. And knowing how passionate Bob is about Bellamy, obviously that doesn’t sit well with him.

Also, Mimi who is the one who responded to the ask, is one of the more sensible/realistic and well spoken BCers in the fandom, IMO. I always enjoy reading her takes on the show/Bellarke.

Karina, I think that’s a really good response you linked, and it sums up my thoughts on it really well, too.

The fic is coming along, Kate! Just wrote a few more pages of it tonight. It’s so massively long. I think it’s going to tug at some heartstrings. There is some very emotional stuff in it.

i just watched the video from last thread the one that is almost 10min long, it's beautiful

for me, they're lovers no matter what Jason said, their actions speak louder then what the writer wants us to believe he wrote. if you didn't want them to look like lovers, dont make them look at each other like they"re the most precious things, dont make them touch like this (not brother /sister ways bc if my brother would touch me like that i would think WTF!) and dont make them the center of decision everytime.
I would not be happy if they're not endgame but i'll know that i have all of these amazing episodes with them.

Also, mistaking beliza and bellarke is weird we all can agree they're incredible actor and like Mel said, when Eliza was as Josephine, we could not see the same light as clarke with bellamy...Eliza is that good abd saying it's the same is weird

Agreed with what you said, Emeline. I sound like a broken record at this point, but if you write the pairing’s interaction in a romantic manner and then turn around and say that the audience (not just shippers but neutrals and some antis too) is interpreting it wrongly, it’s pure misdirection and it’s not our fault as viewers. It really isn’t. If they were written platonically since the beginning, I could accept them not being endgame but that is simply not the case with Bellarke.

I haven’t seen that video yet, so thanks for bringing it over. Saving it for later.

Also, I agree with this response (to the ask that Karina linked earlier today) :

Maybe, that was also what triggered such a response from Bob. He has emphasised how people shouldn’t confuse his relationship with Eliza with Bellarke and by Jason saying that, it indirectly and accidentally alludes to their relationship leaking out onscreen. I can see how that can be considered as insulting to both of them as professional actors.
