I agree with you Lisa and Sarah.

It was a decent episode, but some of the clunky dialogue made me cringe as well.
Definitely not the strongest episode so far

The second half of the show is typically even stronger so I'm excited and I hope that it only gets better.

Rewatched Exit Wounds today. It was as good as I remembered, yay!

I think I speculated about this before, but does anyone else think that Echo knew all along Octavia's plan would be to shoot at least some of the deserters? For this plan to work Diyoza would have to have no reason to think that Echo was different than any other deserter, she just happened to get lucky and not get shot. I believe Echo knew very good and well Diyoza would never believe a dozen or so deserters would have gotten away cleanly, and she knew that Octavia would realize that as well, but she also knew that Bellamy would never be okay with the plan if he knew innocent people were going to die for deserting.

I think Echo can understand it better than Bellamy, why Octavia gave the order to shoot at the defectors ... but I don't think that she knew it before, that Octavia will do it ... she seemed surprised after Kara has started to shoot at the defectors

Echo seemed surprised to me too, that she shot at the defectors so I also don’t think that she knew (whether she suspected that she might is another question though) and also considering how she gave up Octavia’s offer to unbanish her (if she turned in the would-be betrayers) at the expense of her own life, I really don’t think that she knew what Octavia was up to.

I know I'm super late, but I'm finally getting around to posting my episode thoughts I am not caught up at all so sorry if any of this has already been said/discussed

I'm not really loving the Octavia/Echo tension. I know they haven't exactly been friends and the past and I get why Octavia is mad, but for some reason I just can't get invested in this particular conflict. And as far as the Blakes, they have enough issues, so arguing about who Bellamy is dating just seems pointless

So I guess Kane and Diyoza are some sort of political team duo now? I really like Diyoza and honestly I feel like she is the better leader this season, but it feels weird to me that Kane would betray Octavia. I know she had him fight in the ring and everything, and I don't necessarily blame him for choosing to work with Diyoza, I'm just a bit surprised.

I appreciate all the sparring this season!

"How do you explain the sun to someone who's never seen it?" -Is Niylah saying Octavia is the sun? Is she the most brainwashed person in wonkru? Seriously, this line was unsettling

I'm an very surprised and intrigued by the Gaia/Niylah business. I believe that Gaia would want to protect Madi, and if she ends up making some kind of alliance with Clarke that would be an interesting and unexpected turn of events. I've been kind of unimpressed by Gaia so far but depending on how this storyline develops that could definitely change!

"I would never do that " -I find it interesting that Gaia expresses almost horror at the idea of forcing the flame on someone to Clarke, who we all know tried to do that to Luna in season 3.

I love that there was so much Echo in this episode! I feel like we got to see some of how she has changed and some of how she has stayed the same and I'm just really glad to see her involved in the action!

Good point about Gaia and forcing of the flame, and I’m all curious whether season 5 Clarke would have tried to force the flame on Luna. Probably not.

Just to clarify, I don't believe Octavia filled Echo in on her plan or anything, Echo is just savvy enough about war tactics to be expecting Octavia to do exactly what she did.

I'm finally caught up with the seson.

I liked the Gaia/Niylah reveal too. Through out the episode Clarke was worried about Madi talking to Octavia or Gaia and in the end, Gaia turned out to be look out for Madi (or at least seems to be).

I don't think Echo knew about O's plan either, she just wasan't surprised by her move.

Yeah, of all the things they could be fighting about, it's his relationship with Echo. I feel like the writers decided to have Becho just to create conflict between the Blakes as if there was nothing else that could be used, like Octavia becoming a cult leader.

I like that Octavia mentioned Gina and that Echo almost kileld her. The show kind of glossed over that, when they decided to put Becho together. Six years have passed but I find it hard to believe Bellamy would want to be in a relationship with somebody who almost killed his sister. And the cage line was just odd and kind of revisionist history.

Anybody else have a problem with Miller? He's always following whoever is in charge, loyal to the person giving the orders not his people/friends. Same thing happened last season.
