I feel that people often overlook the impact of the MW deaths on Monty, he was instrumental in the whole plan so of course, he feels responsible and some sense of guilt as well.

The show needs to focus more on his mental state and how all he had to do affected him.

They really do. I think they did explore it a little in Season 3 but it isn't enough to demonstrate the full impact of his actions (not to mention having to kill his mother TWICE

) on his psyche ... Monty should be shown to deal with it in a healthy way.

After everything that happened, especially having to kill his mother twice, his season 4 arc should be focused on his mental state, coping with and healing. But that should be the arc for everybody on the show tbh.

Agreed, they all need some serious therapy at this point but I think the events of the season 2 finale and season 3 as a whole was super harsh on Monty. Thinking he had hope of a family again and then having that being taken away from him and losing his best friend at the same time ... really heavy stuff.

So, I would really like to see how he copes with that and starts healing.

That scene with Monty grasping with the decision on whether to kill his mother for the second time will always break me.

Instinctively, I think he knew deep down that she was beyond help but still, he held out a tiny bit of hope that she could be saved. And then he had to make the call to end her life a second time and I cannot.

Great acting from Chris there, he really made me feel all the conflicting emotions that Monty was going through in that moment.
