I guess it's partly to do with the fact that she didn't star on our local soap operas, like Bob and Eliza did before heading overseas for example. Actors/actresses usually have no choice but to start out that way here and then they head overseas. Alycia was one of the lucky ones and found success in the US first. She is young and still relatively new, so given time I'm sure she'll become bigger here. (Though for the moment that just means more for us that do know of her

Yeh I have noticed several young Australians make their mark on soaps like Neighbours and so on. I don't think that makes them any less but good on ADC for heading out there and trying her luck before having any success in her home country.

She took such a risk and it worked. She is reaching new heights, she has portrayed the best character ever to grace our screens and it's only gonna get better.

It still makes me laugh that she turned down that one film because she didnt want to be locked down for 3 films, and then they signed her on her own terms anyway.
