I think we've had more Clarke/Raven on the series which is why I want more of her with him.

As much as I did like the Clarke/Madi bond (more so during the first half of the season, because I still have serious issues with Clarke using the shock collar on her), I’m not sure the show benefits with Madi being Clarke’s primary scene partner.

I like Clarke and Madi/Madi in general but yeah, I still struggle to see how Madi fits into the show in terms of the storyline ... apart from this Commander storyline, which I’m frankly not very excited about.

I would always want more of Clarke/Raven scenes. But I would also like to see more Clarke/Murphy scenes, I think he is one of the few who gets her recent actions and doesn't hold them against her.

Same. I can’t believe that, 6 seasons in and on a new planet, we’re still going to have a commander, even though the chip was supposed to be degrading back in season 3.

^ Love that set. Do you guys think that Clarke is truly at peace with this version of herself (in season 5)? I feel like she was almost there/was there at the start of it, but as the season progressed and she started to falter and doubt herself and her decisions, IMO she kind of lost herself again.

No, I don't think Clarke was at peace in 5X13. Closest she's ever come was in Eden with Madi before the prisoner ship landed. Hopefully she does truly get there though. She deserves to.

I agree, Kate. I definitely didn't feel that was the case at the end of season 5 but she deserves to be truly happy and I hope that we get to see that for Clarke (in season 6 or the end of the series).

After all of Clarke’s questionable choices (ahem, bunker) and self-doubt in S4, I thought they were setting her up to be more confident and at peace with herself in S5. That glorious scene of her at the very end of the S4 finale, eyes aglow looking healthy and vibrant, had me really excited for her role in S5. And she started so strong in “Eden.”

But then I was disappointed by how quickly she lost her way again, and it seemed to me whatever journey she’d made in S4 was kinda wasted as she went through a lot of similar doubts again. I guess maybe that was the point of season 5 for everybody, to show how the remnants of humanity were all trapped in destructive patterns, doing the same damn thing even though there’d been a big time jump and so much should have changed.

I’m hoping for something very different for Clarke and everyone else next season.

All of this. I was feeling so pumped/hopeful for Clarke when 4X13 and 5X01 aired so what happened next was not what I expected (in a good way), but I suppose that is reminiscent of RL too. People have ups and downs all the time, it's how they pick themselves up which matters. However, having said that, showing her having these rock-bottoms again and again without much growth isn't good either. So I hope that is done differently next season, in a way that shows how she's still a flawed individual but in a way that doesn't show regression on her part.
