Diyoza had better not be gone for good! But the anomaly is a good way to sideline her for a while, as I think the writers needed to do.
I'll be really sad if she never gets to experience her daughter being a baby. Not that I necessarily want a baby on the show, but just for Diyoza as a person (because she's real, dammit!) I think it would be really sad for her to just miss those early years and skip to having a six-year-old or whatever. I didn't love how the writers got her into the anomaly. While on the one hand it was sweet that she immediately recognized the kid as her own daughter and wanted to follow her, on the other it seemed out of character. Diyoza is too savvy to blindly follow an apparition to her (possible) death, it seems to me. |

It's interesting that all she saw was her greatest desire while Gabriel mentioned seeing both.

He just said that it could be both though, it doesn't always happen and presumably differs from person to person. :)

I would think Hope's birth and childhood would be both Diyoza's greatest desire and greatest fear, though, especially in the eff'ed up world they managed to find themselves in.
I'm having a hard time coming to grips with how much I'm enjoying Diyoza this season! Last season she was only a couple of steps behind McCreary in the bad-guy department as far as I was concerned. But how much of that was actually what she wanted to do, and how much of it was because of the baby? I need to rewatch S5 with that in mind and see how I feel about her. |
I think it would be both, too, because she would be overjoyed with watching her firstborn grow up. At the same time, however, it is a dangerous world so she probably will constantly fear something terrible happening to her and what the future brings for Hope.

Good points, guys. Diyoza has never externalised her fears about her daughter growing up in such an uncertain and scary world but it’s a reasonable assumption that she would.
Same, Taryn! I’ve always liked her even though she was a ~bad guy because she always had that additional layer of complexity that McCreary never did, but this season, she’s truly been a joy and absolute delight to watch. Her one liners are amazing but moreso than that, she gives us a very compelling and complex character who we never thought that we would root for, but so do. |
I still want to know how the anomaly does this AND fixes people's hair, but ok
Ugh, I really hope we see Diyoza again soon. |
Her development this season has been great and one of my favorite parts.

Diyoza was so happy when she heard and saw her little girl :sigh:
|
Wish we'd see her time in the Anomaly but most likely we'll have her try to explain it (if she even can because that thing is ) Talking scenes are easier to film after all.
