It had to be done, but I can't say that I enjoyed it actually. It was poignant in a really sad way.

I loved it. I loved it so much.

First off, I loved it because of the acting. Good lord. Bob especially . . . definitely some of the best work I’ve ever seen him do. But Marie was amazing, too.

Second, I loved it because he finally made a move against Octavia. I mean . . . it’s heartbreaking. I felt his torment and his anguish. I hate that it had to come to this for him. I didn’t want him to have to do this. But he did what had to be done. I feel like this is the second time this season where we’ve seen Bellamy make a really big move using both his head and his heart, and it’s a move that proves what a strong character he is.

Third, the acting. Oh, I already mentioned that.

Fourth, I feel like this opens up a lot of possibilities moving forward. Both Clarke and Bellamy are now officially enemies of Wonkru. Octavia is temporarily sidelined, so it’ll be interesting to see what Wonkru does without her calling the shots. And this is a turning point in the Blakes dynamic and for Bellamy as a character.

Fifth, the acting.

Bob/Marie blew it out of the park in terms of the final scene. The throwback to their childhood phrase, "my sister, my responsibility.", Bellamy's heartbreak as he poisons her etc.

Me, too. But it also makes me proud, so it’s a very emotional experience all around.

Did you guys notice the tear that spills from Octavia’s eyes as he’s laying her down?

I didn’t notice that, April. Will need to rewatch.

I’ve read comments that this action by Bellamy is probably going to kill off every leftover softness that Octavia felt towards Bellamy and that it’s going to be even worse between them than ever before. I tend to agree.
