We were actually talking about this in the Bellamy thread on Bob's board.

As of right now, Season 4 Bellamy is still my favorite, but I do like season 5 Bellamy, though there have been some things to adjust to, and I'm not ruling out the potential for him to be my favorite. But that's really not something I can determine until the whole season plays out.

We’ll see. I’ve got kind of a mental checklist of things that would have to come to pass for that to happen. I mean, I just love season 4 Bellamy. Like so much. So it’s a tall order to overcome that. If I was just taking into account 5x03-5x05 Bellamy . . . Especially 5x03 and 5x04 Bellamy. Damn. That’s some good stuff from my favorite heroic anti-hero there. He really had such a good head/heart balance in those episodes.

Hmm . . . probably . . . I don’t know if these are plots so much as examples of developments and growth. I’m a character-first watcher, so just his overall progression from who he was in season 1 to who he was at the end of season 4. And the development of his relationship with Clarke. And of course both of those things are still ongoing and still evolving, so . . . I don’t know if I really answered the question.

That is one of my favourite Bellamy meta writers, April. Definitely plan to watch that later since I saw that someone I follow on Tumblr raving about it too.

I really hope that season 5 Bellamy ends up being my favourite version of Bellamy too.

I thought one of the interesting things she talked about is how forgiving Bellamy is. I tended to think of him as holding a grudge, which he did, with the grounders, but when it comes to people he considers to be his people, he’s incredibly forgiving.

Yep, I think that I kept thinking that she was you at some point, April whenever I came across her posts on social media.

That’s a really good point ... it’s true that he has a different level of tolerance altogether when it comes to people who he regards as his people. Which makes sense.

Yeah, it does. And thinking of it like this helps me better empathize with him in regards to forgiving Echo, especially since it took three years. I still don’t like it or support it, and to be honest, I’m a little tired of the show using betrayal to kickstart relationships (not bashing, just an opinion), but I at least CAN acknowledge that it’s in Bellamy’s nature to forgive the people he considers to be his people.

Definitely a video I recommend watching. She also discusses Bellamy and Clarke and the PTSD he might still be struggling with due to having to make that horrible decision to leave her behind, which . . . I don’t know if it’s full-blown PTSD, but it’s definitely trauma, and it hasn’t completely gone away.
