Unfortunately, yes. It didn't help that young!Bellamy in the flashback was shown to be white but the writers have explicitly said that the characters' ethnicity follow the actors so since Bob is half Filipino, it's a no brainer. Unfortunately, I feel like some use it as an excuse to bash Bellamy and that he gets away with a lot because he's white.

Ugh, I wish people would just remember that it doesn't matter how they feel about the character, there's a real person who plays him and Bob shouldn't have to deal with this kind of crap

That makes no sense to me. A character can't be a different race than their actor.

Why do some people have to always find something to whine about? Why does race or color even matter? Diversity isn't anything new. And diversity isn't going away. In fact, we're becoming more and more diverse everywhere!

Unfortunately, there is still a lot of ignorance going on or shall I say, selective ignorance ... and Bob is caught in the middle of it.

And it just sucks that he faced racism as a kid because of his race and now the same thing is happening because of the fanbase for the show.

I always say that anyone who is going to be cruel to any of these cast members doesn’t even deserve the “fan” title. Because they’re not true fans then.

True, I also have that view. And to add to it, I also don’t regard people who bash Arryn as real fans. You don’t have to love or even like her, just respect that Bob clearly chose to date her. That’s it.

That was a nice article to wake up to this morning. Whoever wrote it obviously appreciates the complexity of Bellamy’s arc and Bob’s skillful portrayal of him.
