I agree, I think he did it out of loyalty to his Mom. But at least he did change sides before it was truly too late.

I think there just wasn't enough time to have Monty deal with any consequences.

Agreed, might have been a screen time issue to not follow it up more.
Plus he had the whole I shot my mom story line.

I just wish in that conversation with Bellamy and his mom they would have made his discomfort clearer and him sticking up for Harper and Miller before Bellamy covered for them to Hannah

I also thought that Monty chose to side with Pike mainly out of loyalty to his mother. But I never really liked that storyline. And it always kind of felt like that decision was overlooked by the show, especially considering how the characters reacted to Bellamy siding with Pike

He experienced very little backlash for Mt Weather, too

Monty is an enabler, not a leader.
We'll see how his character developed over the last 6 years though, I wouldn't mind seeing Monty take charge

I’m in full agreement. It was so glaring how overlooked it was in comparison to Bellamy.

I mean I know he wasn't the leader/decision maker there, but he enabled it and was a willing participant.

Same, it just didn't come off as him swaying in that direction on his own (compared to Bellamy at least), and moreso that he was just following Bellamy's lead there again.

I don't wish for punishment for him per say, but I do hope that we see characters calling him out on actions which they disagree with.
