It really is. I’ll never forget Monty choosing to wake her up. It speaks volumes to me. The one thing I appreciated about Monty was that he may have gotten angry at Clarke sometimes but I can honestly say that he was her true friend. One of the few. I can’t spit without hitting someone that treated Clarke terribly, not like a friend. Not Monty. He was precious to the end.

I agree, Sharon. He was a bit harsh to her in season 4 as I recall but mostly, he was truly a genuine friend to Clarke and he wouldn’t have blamed her or been overly mean to her for making the decisions she did when it came to Madi (IMO) ... looking at Spacekru here.

And so true, him choosing to wake her up speaks volumes about how he valued her as a friend and wanted her to take care of Jordan.

He got angry at Clarke for her bad choices/actions but he always ultimately came around and realized that she was doing her best. That's all anyone could ask for her to do after all. Monty was better at forgiveness than the rest of their so called friends were. He never gave up on trying to survive and he never stopped believing in Clarke (And Bellamy too.) And in return they didn't give up trying to honor his last desire.

He truly was a good soul and a good friend and a good Dad and just genuinely a good person and now I'm gonna stop or I'll be crying.

Agreed so much with that, Kate. I can't say it any better, Monty was a real friend ... calling her out when she needed it but also ultimately caring about her and knowing that she did her absolute best.

I love Clarke honouring Monty and I love that parallel so much.
