I always assumed that since they landed near what used to be Washington DC that we would only get to see monuments nearby and the statue of liberty would be too far away. Although the trip to the island seemed to take a couple of days (without the rover) so I wonder how far that is from Arkadia and Polis?

Hmm yeah. We posted a map of The 100 world on the General Discussion thread before, if I remember correctly. We could maybe use that to figure out where this island is likely to be, vs where Arkadia/Polis are on the map?
I'm not American so I'm not at all familiar with the monuments but a quick Google search showed that it's mainly memorials near Washington DC? __________________

Oh cool, I will have to try to dig that up.
I'm from the DC area so I'm always paying attention to the old buildings and memorials that pop up and every now and then I get really nit picky about something in the landscape that I don't think should be there |

The biggest one was the mountains in the background when the adults first landed on earth. They are way too big to be anywhere near the remains of Washington DC. And it always stands out to me because I so wished I could live near snow capped mountains like that

Very cool! I didn't realize the dropship and Arkadia were so far from Ton DC. Everyone must be very in shape from walking (and, you know, constantly fight for their lives)
I honestly feel like ALIE's island could be anywhere. There are lots of little islands up and down the east coast |
