It's sad it took so long to get to thread number two. Is that because he was already dead when the board went up or was he just *that* unpopular?

I don't love Finn, but I don't dislike him, either.

It is kind of surprising it took so long to get to a second thread.

I think he wasn't popular as a whole and some fans, who were posting here when the show started, were disappointed about the turn the character took and never posted much again. I can understand that.

Though I think it was Thomas's decision to leave the show so they had to write him off somehow ... it was such an OTT move for the character that some fans found it hard to swallow.

It's weird because he was in all of season 1 and what, half of season 2? So it's not like he was in 3 episodes like Wells.

Finn's demise was incredibly rushed, though I found Thomas' acting to be at its best 2x05-onward.

Oh, I totally understand not liking him in season 2 (although, I didn't "like" where they took his character, I still felt for him). I was thinking more about season 1 when he seemed pretty likable. At least, he seemed likable to me.

Without him, there would have been no moral backbone. He was definitely needed back then.

I guess it was the love triangle business that didn't appeal to folks. It didn't bother me, but I could see how it took away from Finn's general likability.

Yup.

And NGL, I still prefer Wells over him.

firewall - Yup, I agree that the love triangle played a lot into it because some people, myself included, didn't see Finn as a whole character outside of being a love interest for Raven/Clarke.

I never thought it was so much of Thomas's acting, moreso the way the character was written. It was a bit bizarre to me how different he was written compared to the other male characters, but I do appreciate/acknowledge his role as the moral compass and liked that aspect of his character.

Yeah actually - I think the love triangle bit is what turned me off of the character, just a little bit. I mean I liked him ok, but without that I would have liked him much more

Same here, it just didn't paint him in a favourable light. Though I appreciated that he apologised to Raven afterwards.
