I hope the writers read that. They touch on a lot of the same complaints and concerns I have, regarding the flame plotline, Echo throughout the season, and the way Clarke was written in 5B.

It’s an intelligent discussion, certainly not fans just sitting around complaining. So I think they’d do well to read it.

Overall, it’s pretty complimentary of Bellamy, which I enjoyed.

I don’t think that there’s any harm to read fan comments about the season and what critiques they have, if it’s not just people whining/complaining like April said. It’s their story to tell at the end of the day but honestly, it bugs me when writers and producers are not open to hearing what people like/dislike ... it will only help them in writing or fixing certain things in the next season. And I really thought that season 5 could have been so good but instead, the execution fell short.

I would hope that reviewer and fan perspectives wouldn't necessarily sway/change specific plots, but that it would perhaps influence the execution of the plots and overall way the story is told. I might not like a particular storyline, but I'm more likely to be willing to deal with it if it's told well.

Exactly.

For me, this is kind of how I felt about Octavia’s storyline this season. It infuriated me, so yeah, I hated it at times, but ultimately, I can acknowledge that it was well-written and well-acted, so overall, the execution was good. (I’m more nervous about how they’re going to execute her storylines moving forward now.)

So I read a bit of that roundtable thing and i disagree with almost everything said there. Opinions, eh?

Pretty much all reviews about s05 were universal in their opinion that emotional character moments/ conversations didn't happen as much as we as an audience would have needed. From the showrunner's/ writers' persepective, they probably feel like we want to see all of those open threads resolved in s06. Tbh, they have done this with previous seasons, just not to this degree. I'm sure they read all of the reviews (if not all of fans' comments LOL).

I have faith they'll do a good job, these people are extremely talented not a bunch of hacks that just stumbled in and ruined the show

There was too much clunky dialogue this season for me, which could be a result of new writers, not as in tune with the characters as we are by now. But I remain positive that they'll make the next season exciting and that they'll take criticism to heart.

Kate, and to be honest I was worried about the entire change (almost) in the writing staff but now I think that it might be for the best. The only concern I have is probably about continuity and that certain storylines/loose ends will be forgotten with the new team, but I hope and think that they will do better this season. Taking into account reviewer feedback and fair comments from the fans etc and going back to the key element of why people love this show: the characters and their morally grey decisions and what it means to live vs surviving.
