I have that same pet peeve, Kate. I really can't read Canon that seems OOC because . . . well, it's Canon! There's no excuse for them not being in character.

AU . . . I can give it a little more leeway, but there still has to be some traits in them that tie them back to their Canon selves. (I'm hoping to accomplish that with my fic. )

what page nr are you up to now? or better yet, how many flashbacks have you written? I am still so psyched to read it!!!

That reminds me, I've started reading the first book (not very far yet, I crashed last night no wonder! ) and it is so weird when you already have the faces in your mind and the memory of all the scenes. Crazy. I don't think I've ever watched a TV show / movie first and then read the books.

YES APRIL! I totally agree
I mean, I always had a problem with Clarke, but in this scene, I wasn't really digging Bellamy either So absolutely, these two people you're rooting for are finally venting it out to each other. And some stuff that could/should have been said a season ago got out.
I do love how the writers do that though, I haven't really felt like there were any loose ends so far. Everything gets addressed sooner or later.

Kate, I'm on page 52 and I've written a whole whopping 4 flashbacks right now! (I also wrote a 10 page smut scene, so . . . )

It was a very cathartic scene.

I like it because . . . it's not a scene about who's right or who's wrong, who's good or who's bad. It's just a scene about . . . about them, and about what they've done. And neither one of them does right or does wrong every single time. Neither one of them is good or is bad all the time.

THAT! It's one of the things that has pleasantly surprised me about this show.
In 3a I found myself so frustrated with Clarke and kept waiting for someone to call her out on it and say all the things that I wanted to say So when Bellamy gets going in that scene, I was so glad! Finally. Hells yeah!

I think a lot of Bellarke fans would at least place it in their Top 5. Or at least Top 10.

My favorite scenes, as they come to mind, include:

3x02 rescue attempt
3x05 argument
2x05 hug
2x16 cheek kiss and goodbye
1x08 talking by the tree
3x13 hug

But there are so many more! And sometimes it's a scene that only one of them is in (i.e. the whole "Start with Bellamy Blake" line that I will NEVER EVER BE OVER. ).

You'll just have to wait. I think it turned out pretty well, though. I'm always super critical of my smut scenes, but I think this is one of my favorite that I've ever written.
