Agreed, now I have learned not to trust cast interviews pre-finale

but at the same time, I couldn't shake off the worry that something catastrophic was about to go down. What disappointed me about the finale was that it was predictable in almost every way: we KNEW ALIE would be defeated but the way they set about executing that ending was meh IMO.

Yes, i think for once they decided to not go with the shocking route, but with a more nice and hopeful route (despite the ending of the world in six months time of course

), with all our heroes together, with Clarke and Bellamy ready to lead our people together to safety. It was different, but like i've said it set up s4 very nicely.

I've personally never had any problems with the nicknames they had given them, because i think they were fitting with their situation in those moments. Rebel King and Brave Princess represented their partnership in s1, The Queen and Her Knight represented their partnership in s2, but now they are clearly crushing both these notions and going into a more equal partnership between them. And the finale scene showed us that.

but I love that BC are just crushing that "unequal dynamic" notion, left right and center. It does kind of bug me how in this fandom, Bellamy is supposed to agree with everything that Clarke says/does but the moment he doesn't, he's abusive. There's something called "speaking your mind even when it's not what the other person wants to hear but NEEDS to hear".

And he supports her when she needs to be supported, like when Abby was objecting about her taking the flame but he knew she had no other option and backed her. It's really a "do and you're damned" and "don't and you're still damned" POV that some people have which I don't agree with. BC can support each other without being a pushover. That's how they've always been from the start.

I agree Sarah. I think the last two episodes really showed us this dynamic. Bellamy was totally contrary of Clarke's plan at the beginning of 3x15, contrary again later because he didn't trust Roan (but changing his mind when he understood she was actually trusting him) and supportive in this episode because he knew it was their only option. They are partners who trust and rely on each other to get the job done. Bellamy trusted Clarke to be able to shut down ALIE and Clarke trusted Bellamy in handling the situation out there. They are a team.

Absolutely! I remember we were all talking a lot about this after 3x05 aired, and we kept saying that one of the reasons why we enjoyed their argument so much is that you should be able to engage in that type of heated conversation with someone . . . and then forgive each other and move on from it. That's what healthy couples do--they get their issues out there in the open, and it's not always pretty and not always pleasant, but there's certainly nothing abusive about it.

I get that some people might not feel that way but I honestly cannot see any other line of thinking but that. Of course from a totally biased POV so.

Agreed, there was something a bit eerie (but ultimately) hopeful about Jasper standing on his own right after everything is okay again where I think they would have had Jasper killing himself instead of surviving. I'm not a fan of Jasper (slowly warming up to him finally

) but I was relieved that he didn't die.

This. I hadn't really looked at it from this perspective but I'm SO EXCITED that things are being set up more in terms of a character-driven season as opposed to the plot-driven season we had this year. And that it was ultimately more hopefully with most of them being in a better place individually as well as together.

Yep, it's like certain people don't have healthy friendships in their life. Your best friend is not always the person who supports you but even the one who call you out on your BS when you need it. Both Bellamy and Clarke aren't delicate flowers who don't need some reality check from time to time. Also disagreeing sometimes help a relationship grow.

Word. This is a true team, not one that crumbles when it doesn't suit the agenda of one person *cough. One that challenges the other when they think the other person has a crappy plan but when it comes down to it, they ultimately trust the other to make whatever crappy plan work ... with their support.
