Soft Bellarke moments are my aesthetic. Love seeing them happy/smiley/not in pain for once.

That hand on her back shot is so intense because it shows so much of Clarke's skin and Bellamy holds her so close and touches her skin ... we have never seen that before
Also Bellamy's face on her shoulder ... Clarke must have felt each of Bellamy's breaths on her skin ... gosh, it's such an aesthetic shot

I totally get what you mean, Sonja. God, that would have made it even more sensual. Also, I sort of wanted either a forehead kiss from Bellamy after the hug or them caressing each other’s faces to make sure the other person was real ... because that would truly be the end of me. Honestly.

My head canon was that the face touch in 3x02 (which still ***** me up) was Bellamy’s way of making sure that it was really her, that she was there. So, it would have been great to see both of them doing that to make sure that the other person was real.

I get what you’re saying, Sonja. I think Jaclyn and Marcella may have mentioned it, too . . . Clarke being in that tank top makes the scene a lot more intimate. And you know, she was wearing her jacket at the end of 5x03. They could have kept it on her for this scene. But I think it was a deliberate choice to not have her wear it. Just like it was a deliberate choice to show his hand on her back. Directors direct us into a story, wardrobe helps design that story.

I’m not surprised that there are tons out now that they’re finally reunited. Team Hodgins had already prepared a new video in preparation for the reunion scene and edited it in just after the episode aired.

It reminds me of a certain scene of Buffy the Vampire Slayer when Joss Whedon had the two romantic leads originally filming this scene outside Buffy’s house, but he said he wasn’t liking it because they were in their coats, and he wanted something more intimate. So he moved the scene inside, had the male be shirtless for part of it, just to convey that sense of intimacy. Granted, Clarke was in a tank top, not shirtless, but you know what I’m getting at here!

Word! These are all deliberate storytelling choices ... which are really interesting.

Also, the fact that Diyoza referred to Bellarke as “hostage taker and his girlfriend” ... I have to vent on this since I see certain quarters saying that this is heteronormative behaviour to assume that a guy and girl must be together. Hello, Bellamy literally walked in front of many armed and dangerous men (and one women) to negotiate for her release, only armed with a freaking mug and his negotiation skills. And he confirmed that she’s very important to him and then stared at her intensely. And then they were probably observing them when they reunited and saw how they interacted and assumed that they were together. It’s a fair assumption to make.

I feel like it’s just another way to undermine where TPTB are taking them in the direction of ... many shows make reference to the characters having a boyfriend or girlfriend just before the ship becomes canon so I hope/feel that this is where it’s leading to.

Also, this is not the first time that third parties have observed them and commented ... Lexa, RavALIE, Murphy and chipped!Abby. But it is the first time that they’re explicitly thought of to be a romantic pairing, that is interesting.
