Because they went to high school together. Because he remembered her name was Cate with a 'C'. Because their names are Nate and Cate. Because of course he didn't roofie her! Because she 'completely' defaced his picture in her yearbook. Because he knew how to reach her. Because she ran from her kiss with Ryan to answer his phone call. Because he was nervous calling her. Because they 'did it that time'. Because he wasn't going to give up trying to get a hold of her, he was just chillin' out. Because he remembered she got knocked up at Winter Formal and not on prom night. Because he gets her riled up like no other. Because she noticed his receding hairline. Because she knew he owned a bar. Because "did you google me?" Because their banter outside the court house was awesome! Because what did she want him to do? Propose to her? Because she didn't WANT to have a thing for "some" 'meat head corterback' in high school -- but she did! Because he always thought the back of his mom's mini van was a fluke. Because why is she so upset? Because he upsets her. Because he can get under her skin like no other! Because their chemistry is through the roof! Because they have history. Because according to Lux, they both need parents. Because she went back to his bar. Because he doesn't want her to keep blaming herself, "it was a pretty much a joint effort". Because he 'deflowered' her in the back of his mother's mini van. Because he 'lured' her into the van with Zima and The Spin Doctors. Because he always thought it was his 'mad skills' and 'rockin' tape deck'. Because he said sorry for the way he acted towards her back then. Because he said she was successful and talented and beautiful. Because she always really liked his eyes. Because she woke up wearing his shirt. Because oooh it happened... TWICE! Because she's on the pill or something... right? Because whatever did happen... was a fluke! (Sure Cate, okay!) Because together, they created a life. Because thanks to Lux, they will be forever bonded together. Because what is he doing? He's repairing the damage. Because he left her like, twenty messages. Because they both reacted the same to seeing their daughter's boyfriend for the first time. Because she is his parents' type. Because he assured her her prom dress wasn't too much for the family dinner. Because he didn't remember Cate's sister's name, but he remembered Cate's! Because even her mother approved of Cate loosing her virginity to him! Because the have family pow-wows now since that's what families do. Because he defended her against his father by admitting he knew she was pregnant back in high school. Because they're using the term 'we' more these days, and we're loving it! Because she admitted she should have talked to him before switching Lux's schools. Because he helped her see Lux's P.O.V. Because they bonded over their families attacking them. Because we definitely didn't miss the looks exchanged between them in the car! Because as a child, Lux's wish to Santa was to have one mommy and one daddy. Because she can't ever ignore his calls! Because Baze thinks Cate is a supermom. Because he's going to be linked to Cate for all eternity. Because he encouraged Lux to work things out with Cate. Because he seemed to have a key to her place. Because she referred to him as an "overgrown man-child" and we totally detected some affection in her tone! Because she gripes about her baby-daddy drama on-air, constantly. Because Cate brought her best friend to Baze's bar. Because he knew she was trying to sneak upstairs to check on Lux's party. Because they were arrested together. Because he assured her that she was a 'natural mom'. Because she assured him that Lux deserved to be yelled at. Because she encouraged him to go talk to his father. Because she was waiting for him inside. Because she put her hand on his (and we're guessing they felt a connection!) Because "there's always been feelings for this girl..." -Kris Because "He's always kind of held her up on a little pedestal." -Kris Because "He wants to be approved by her." -Kris Because he eats, sleeps and pees at Cate's. Because Baze's last hookup was with Cate. Because even Jamie sees he has a thing for Cate! Because she can't go two seconds without mentioning his name. Because even Lorania from Hillsboro agrees they have 'crazy chemistry'! Because Portland can't get enough of these two - and neither can we! Because she is the reason he was put on the radio show. Because even Ryan saw how they were together, sitting at the bar the night of his 'turtle thing' Because clearly Cate was on his mind when he was trying to make it with Trina. Because Cate looked genuinely hurt and upset when she caught him on the pool table with another girl. Because she thinks sex is supposed to mean something between two people. Because when Baze asked if the two of them sleeping together meant something, she didn't answer. Because he looked hurt when she said she wanted to see less of him and then walked out. Because in the words of Lux: "You and Baze are... you and Baze." Because when she's around Baze, she feels like she's still in high school, wanting him to notice her. Because she wants him to think she's good enough. Because he's her high school crush! Because he knew what her favorite song is: bitchin' camaro. Because the name of her favorite song also happened to be Baze's first car. Because all [her] roads lead back to slamming Baze.. hey, at least he's on her mind a lot! Because neither one of them get the 'Parent of the Year' award. Because she finally told him why she still hasn't forgiven him. Because he admitted that she is "worth something" to him. Because he's trying to show her that he's not the same guy anymore. Because they have the power to hurt each other like no other. Because "we all have things that we hold onto, that we can't let go of" -and Baze is that for her! Because she stopped by his place with memorabilia from "that night" in hopes of a 'redo'. Because she doesn't want to hate him anymore, or punish him. Because he apologized to her for who he was back then. Because she admitted knowing that he wasn't 'that guy' anymore. Because they made a toast together: "To new friends." Because they sat out on Baze's balcony together, drinking Zima. Because he defended Cate during their family session. Because she freaked out when she found out about Baze and Abby. Because she got all confused when Baze "confessed his feelings". Because even Abby could tell that Baze's lie came from somewhere. Because Baze and Abby, it upset Cate... A LOT! Because he told Bug that he liked to smell her. Because he sniffed her. Because he loves to drive her crazy - literally! Because she came over to his bed. Because he freaked out when she came to his bed. Because they always find a way to sleep in the same bed. Because she didn't want him to sleep on the floor. Because she sees him differently. Because he pretended to fall asleep. Because she covered him up with the blanket. Because the pillow wall was gone. Because they ended up entwined when they woke up the next morning. Because he praised her in front of her father. Because her father thought Baze was Cate's fiancé. Because he was looking out for her. Because Baze wasn't the one who wrecked her. Because he never left. Because he couldn't leave Cate. Because she let herself go in his arms. Because they hugged. Because he comforted her. Because he wanted to make Cate happy by putting on her favorite Starship song. Because he was there for her. Because she apologized to him. Because she thanked him for being there. Because she wants him to be honest with her even if she doesn't wanna hear it. Because she doesn't want to blame him anymore. Because even Lux noticed that Baze had feelings for Cate. Because even Lux wants them to be together. Because he doesn't want the feelings to go away. Because they were holding hands... for a while! Because they are getting along. Because it's almost like she likes him. Because he looked depressed during the whole wedding thing. Because for Cate, he accepted to have the rehearsal dinner at his bar. Because he made a toast for her on the rooftop. Because she's changed him. Because he needed to talk to her before the wedding. Because Cate tried to walk away when Lux confronted her about her feelings for Baze. Because Lux saw everything going on between Cate and Baze. Because Lux and Jack want Baze to tell her what he feels. Because she went to his place in the middle of the night. Because she asked him if he was in love with her. Because she felt something since the moment he came back into her life. Because what if there is a part of her that is in love with him, too? Because he lied to make her happy. Because he doesn't feel good enough for her. Because he can't tell her that he loves her. Because she thinks he doesn't love her. Because some sick twisted masochistic part of her has feelings for a guy that doesn't even have the guts to admit that he loves her back. Because that microscopic feeling has been there long before Ryan. Because he ran to the church for her. Because he was ready to stop the wedding for her. Because he was too late for her. Because the wedding left him heartbroken. Because he wants to talk to her. Because "I love you". Because she already knew. Because they are always going to be broken. Because she thanked him for chaperoning. Because he had a sad look on his face when he learned that Cate and Ryan were trying to have a baby. Because Baze always dates girls who are Cate-related. Because he's trying to move on from someone he was in love with. Because having babies is their thing. Because Baze thinks Cate and him are meant to be. Because Emma described Cate as Baze's ideal woman. Because she reassured him that nothing is gonna change between them. Because she wasn't too happy to find out Baze felt something for another woman. Because they always have meaningful conversations on his rooftop. Because he called her for advice on a personal thing. Because Emma reminds him of Cate. Because she let him switch rooms at the hotel Because he wanted to talk to Cate... again! Because he talks about Cate all the time. Because she said she put her feelings for Baze to bed the second that she said "I do" - but we know they're still there. Because she doesn't know if she would have called off the wedding. Because the root of Cate and Ryan's problems weren't Baze. Because she might would have been in a better place with Baze. Because that night, she was looking for answers. Because all he did was not saying he loved her. Because he still regrets what he did and didn't do with Cate. Because thanks to Cate, he's learning from his mistakes and is becoming a better man. Because "When you love somebody and you can’t have that person, that person’s always there. That person is always on your mind. Because for the second time, she caught Baze with another woman and felt just as hurt as the first time. Because he's the one person she thought would be here for her. Because she feels that Baze is no longer there for her. Because she thinks he's over her. Because Baze listened to her with attention. Because he told her she shouldn't hate herself. Because he doesn't hate her. Because Baze took her by the shoulder and let her snuggle against him. Because she lied about Baze. Twice! Because he apologized about Cate. Because "with whom I have done that - whom!" Because he knows that she can't feel any worse than she does right now. Because seriously, what are they doing? Because "Good plan." Because they stayed calm, united front and they acted like real parents. Because they were very concerned about Lux's inability. Because what matters now is that they figure this thing out and they're here to take care of it. Because he always shows some affection to Cate when she needs it. Because he didn't want her to pay for the doctor's appointment. Because she wants to worry about the past okay, and that's her thing but he wants to care of what's happening right now. Because with the look that she gave him, she seemed to be proud and impressed. Because she will be bumming rides from him for a little while now. Because "Of course, Cate." Because he touched Cate's hand again - even in front of Emma. Because on the bright side, it'll be their first Thanksgiving together. Because he only wanted to be tender with her. Because he doesn't think he has seen her this volatile since... High School! Because he tried to touch her again - and didn't succeed. Because "Don't be late." Because the look on his face when he heard she was pregnant said it all. Because they acted like concerned parents and exchanged confused looks in the interrogation room. Because Cate called Baze right away. Because even if we couldn't see much of that hug at the court, we believe it was amazing. Because Cate was jealous during Baze's toast. Because "To Cate... and Baze." - best Freudian slip ever! Because while they were driving up to Whistler at 4 AM, Kris asked Shiri all about her personal life. Because they had an awesome fight at the end of the first season. Because during the second season, they said "I appreciate you" to each other every morning. Because "Shiri became my sister." - Kris Because Kris used to sing and play with Shiri's fake breasts - which apparently was never a problem to Shiri! Because Shiri opened up her jacket for him. Because "Do it, Kris! You do it all the time!" - Shiri Because the wrist touching and physical contact at the IBG event was just perfect. Because they were too cute at the IBG event. Because at the IBG event, the moment where they were the most lively was when they were asked to talk about themselves. Because "[Shiri and Kris] basically made a commitment that it doesn't matter what is written, we are playing that connection. That's not going away for us!" eee now I can read everything without being spoiled.
Finished watching season 2. Not sure what to think though. Why did they skip time like that?  I wanted to see how they worked things out! now I feel like an orphan  This show was so good =/ __________________
