You were born to play Rachel. Did you sail through the audition process?
I had three auditions: the first time, the piano player messed up and they were laughing at me. I was like, ‘Why are you laughing? This is supposed to be a serious scene.’ But it turned out I was doing a lot of things that were very much like Rachel Berry. For my second audition I got into a massive car wreck, left my crashed car in the street and ran into the audition with cuts and glass in my hair. And then on the final audition, I had the worst neckache from the car accident, but I’m here now.

Who’s your favorite character on the show?
I love Kurt. Absolutely. Because he is so hysterical. He’s so witty.

How hard is it to learn those big dance productions?
We did this number a couple of weeks ago that was extremely gruelling. Now Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) can’t look far to the left, and I have back spasms every so often. I’ll be talking to you and be like, ‘Excuse me one minute’ and my back will just spazz out. And then I’ll be fine. But we ignore it, because we’re all just really happy. We don’t pay attention to our injuries.

You work together 24/7, so who has the most annoying habits?
I haven’t noticed anyone’s annoying habits. Although we were on an airplane yesterday and it was the first time we all flew together. It was so much fun. The people on the plane were so annoyed because we were like little kids running around, taking pictures of each other, and being silly.

Do you think you’ll end up with the same fanbase as High School Musical or Twilight?
If we have fans like Twilight fans, then thank God, because those are some hardcore, amazing fans. We were at the Teen Choice Awards, and they were screaming for Robert Pattinson, and I was just thinking, ‘I hope one day they scream for us like that.’

Did you meet Robert Pattinson?
I walked past him. And yes. I did say, ‘Hi’. Yes, he’s very sweet. Very handsome. I would love me a cute English boy. Anybody with an accent...
